The Titans close out their participation in the 2K Classic on Wednesday, November 22 with a contest against former MCC foe St. Louis. St. Louis was an MCC member back when I was a student at U of D, and one of my favorite opposing players was 5-7 St. Louis point guard Pee Wee Lenard. Pee Wee was a pass first point guard who knew how to run a team, and often gave the Titans fits. Of course, St. Louis took the path of most of our MCC colleagues and moved on to bigger and better things. The Billikens are 3-1, with wins over two teams that blew out the Titans by 30, Virginia Tech and Seattle, to go along with a rout of Rockhurst. The lone loss was to a good Providence team by a surprising score of 90-63. Javon Bess, a transfer from Michigan State, leads St. Louis in scoring. From pretty much any perspective, this looks like another tough match up for the Titans. The Billikens have fared better against common opponents. They have an experienced coach with a good reputation. After dropping their last game to the Friars, St. Louis probably won't be caught overlooking Detroit. Tip off is 8:00 PM. The game is carried on the A10 Network and broadcast on 910 AM. detroittitans.com/news/2017/11/21/mens-basketball-closes-out-2k-sports-classic-at-saint-louis-on-wednesday.aspx

At the half the Titans trail St. Louis by two points, 32-30. Weird game. Detroit is shooting 31% from the floor to St. Louis's 45%, but the Billikens have turned it over nine times to help keep Detroit within striking distance. McFolley leads the Titans with 14 points.
