Although YSU occasionally has one good home game, I think the combination of Central and Western Michigan is the first time they've had two non-conference home games of that quality in a long, long time. It's not that CMU and WMU are great, it's just that YSU's schedule is usually terrible. With the neutral site Coaches v. Cancer game against rival Akron, nearby guarantee games at West Virginia and Ohio State, and a trip to the Big Apple to play some beatable mid-majors, this is the best YSU schedule I've seen in quite a while.

Agreed on the quality of that YSU schedule. Their coach seems driven. Not sure if he will be successful there or not, but he's trying. Recruiting hard and upgrading the schedule.

Good game for the Grizz. UNLV was 20-13 last year, a nine win improvement from the previous season. They did lose their top score, 7-1 freshman center Brandon McCoy, who averaged 17 and 9. McCoy declared for the NBA draft and went undrafted. Lots of questions about the Grizz this coming season. It will be interesting to see how they far in this early season game.

Wright State is the second Horizon school to publish a full non-conference schedule, joinig Youngstown.
This is a schedule designed to win lots of games. There are 7 home games, and of those 7 only Toledo had a winning record last year. Two are with non-DI teams.
The road schedule includes neutral site games with Penn State and either Bradley or SMU. Those are both winnable, and if they're not great opposition, wins over PSU and SMU would give Wright State at least the legitimacy of wins over high majors. Road games at Indiana State, Murray State, and Kent State could be crucial--all three are credible mid-majors, and should be RPI boosting. But all are tough games and we know Horizon teams can't afford non-conference losses to mid-majors. The final game is at Mississippi State.
Full WSU schedule (and what we know of other teams) is on the first post in this thread, and updated regularly.
