I can confirm we have spent a lot of time at Macomb CC and Henry Ford CC. I am friends with coaches at each school. I would be surprised it we don't see 1-2 local juco kids on the roster next year.

No word on Sonny Johnson signing an LOI. I assume he's still good to go--still has UD commitment post pinned on Twitter account.

That performance couldn't help our recruiting. (Although I remain very confident that Johnson is still good to go)

While looking through some local JUCO boxscores, I noticed a 6' guard at Schoolcraft, Keionte Cornelius, a Flint native who went to high school in Houston, put up 40 points yesterday. Haven't seen any reported offers. Might be someone to keep an eye on
Edit:In 3 games, he's averaging 30 ppg, 6 rpg and 6 apg.

I remember J'Christian Biles signed with us when he was there, but apparently didn't qualify academically. I don't think he played D1 anywhere.

Biles signed with Youngstown State out of HS, before going to Schoolcraft. I would guess he went to schoolcraft because of academic issues. If he was not prepared for the academics at YSU, he certainly wasn’t going to cut it at UD. Probably a guy Ray shouldn’t have bothered with.

Didn't Bacari recruited Dre Black from Schoolcraft?

Biles was a borderline D1 talent who couldn't get qualified. He ended up at SVSU after Schoolcraft.
Dre Black was similarly not a true D1 level talent. That type of player was BA's bread and butter. 😁
In all fairness, BA had a pretty good start to a class going with Nelson and Hightower. Easily his 2 best recruits outside of the handshake deal to bring Chatman to town. Still, I have no faith that he had the ability to do much of anything here... regardless of the players. He's a great cheerleader, but that's about it.
