For we OCD types trying to put schedules together, it's interesting to see what seems to be a growing chaos in many of these early season exempt tournaments. For example, today Florida International announced their schedule, which has them playing in the Washington D.C. Classic on Novembr 22-23. According to FIU, they play UNC-Wilmington on the 22nd, and Eastern Kentucky on the 23rd. But according to Cleveland State's schedule, released a couple weeks ago, CSU is playing UNC-Wilmington on the 22nd, and Eastern Kentucky on the 23rd. I suppose they'll straighten it out when they all show up, at the same time they choose between "shirts" and "skins."
Meanwhile, IUPUI is playing in the Cayman Islands Classic, which, of course, means they will never set foot in the Cayman Islands. Instead, it appears that they will play at Loyola of Chicago, and maybe another road game against one of the "big" programs that does get to go to the Caymans. Then they play a "mainland regional" on November 25-26. That "regional" includes IUPUI, Loyola of Maryland, Southern, and Nebraska-Omaha. According to Southern's published schedule, Southern plays Omaha on November 25 in Baton Rouge, and then plays IUPUI on November 26, also in Baton Rouge. But according to Loyola of Maryland's schedule released today, Loyola plays IUPUI on November 25 in Omaha, and either Southern or Omaha in Omaha on November 26. Looks like someone may show up in the wrong city.
I've noticed a couple other of these that I can't immediately recall, but all this just pertains to tournaments with Horizon teams. This mid-major scheduling is getting even more brutal than previously thought!
