Notre Dame’s Nikola Djogo has entered the transfer portal. It was expected that he would retire from college hoops, as he sat out his freshman year to develop. Coach Brey said after this season it was time for his two seniors to “move on and do something else” since they were both already 5 year guys. Djogo will earn his MBA this May.
He’s not a Michigander, but he is from Ontario. Sure, it’s weird that a guy who will presumably be turning 24 and already holds two college degrees is in the transfer portal and has another year left. Yet, that’s the position Djogo is in, and I don’t blame him for considering playing the game he loves for just one more year. Does he want to play close to home? Worth a phone call for Mike Davis.

He would fit here. He looks like another big who doesn't want to bang. Looks to be a good shooter who by his rebound #'s wants to be a guard. We already have a couple of those. I just saw above where Brandon has hit the Transfer portal. This one saddens me. By the end of the year he and Willie were the only ones who wanted to play down low. Had Bol and Noah decided to rebound we might still be playing.

He actually would fit here, but yeah, he is definitely not the most aggressive guy on the court. He is a very unselfish player with very high basketball IQ. My guess is he ends up playing at a school in western New York, which is closer to his home. Or, maybe he just says screw it and decides to play a year somewhere warm and pleasant like a mid major in California. Not sure if he’s good enough to play pro in Canada, I assume he is good enough to at least get a contract and play a year or two. He holds dual citizenship, so he could maybe play in a very small league in Europe. Sadly, he was at ND for 5 damn years and never got to play in a post season tournament. He can almost certainly make more $ using his MBA than playing hoops.

I hope our Commish is right.

Another Michigan native on the move. A younger player with great stats I would like to get Green but he turned us down for EKy out of high school. Why would he come now? My guess is he figures his very good year at EKy will get him high major offers.

Someone is telling Wendell Green that since he played so well at Eastern Kentucky he could be just as good at Kentucky. :-)
As I said in another thread, we're going to see a lot of mid major players using their first year or two as a "tryout" for high major programs.
