Go on and show some love to this guy. We could use every player of a power 5 conference we can get. Even if he is a walk on

I'm feeling confident that Brad will be dishing assists for the Titans next season...

Calipari is a good player. Riding the pine at Kentucky is no disgrace--there are probably some NBA players who ride the pine at Kentucky. Calipari was recruited by UMass and others out of high school, and probably would have been heavily recruited by mid-majors and some high majors if there hadn't been a sense that he would play for Dad at UK.

It appears that the fan base got made at him because he wasn't wearing "blue" when on the bench. The guy could wear a golden grizzly shirt for all I care while on the bench as long as he gives it 100% to win while on the court.

Do we need another guard? A six-foot guard? (Behind Maxwell, Rose, LeGrand, Davis, Moore and maybe Pink.) Whose dad said he should considering DII:
"I even told him to look at Division II. What’s wrong with that? Go to a place where you are well coached, where you get a chance, where you are in a good league. You know Division II basketball, they're just a little smaller, but you've got talented guys."
Of course, maybe Coach Dad would give UDM a game against Kentucky.

From SBNation:
Calipari announced on Wednesday that he will choose between the Detroit Mercy Titans and the Hampton Pirates. Many Kentucky fans hoped he would stay close to home and consider EKU or Northern Kentucky, but it looks like he will be moving to a new state.
Detroit Mercy, obviously in Michigan, finished with a record of 11-20 last season in the Horizon League. They are losing their second leading scorer, Josh McFolley, to graduation, so there is playing time presumably up for grabs.
Hampton, which is located in Hampton, Virginia, went 18-17 in the Big South Conference last season. They are losing two guards, Kalin Fisher and Akim Mitchell, so there are plenty of minutes available there as well.
There is no known timeline for Calipari’s decision, but you would have to think he is eager to get to his new campus and get to work.

Some info about Calipari from the Kentucky website:

Joined Kentucky after a productive final season at the MacDuffie School in Massachusetts ... The 6-foot guard spent his last two seasons at MacDuffie after starting his high school career at Lexington Christian Academy ... Averaged 15.3 points, 3.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game as a senior ... Finished his career as a 1,000-point scorer … Was the MVP of the 2016 HoopHall Classic … Chosen for the 2016 Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic, where he scored nine points on three 3-pointers to go along with four rebounds ... In January, played against former UK teammate Wenyen Gabriel and scored 17 points on five made 3-pointers, while leading his team to a 69-61 victory over Gabriel’s squad from Wilbraham and Monson Academy (Massachusetts) … Also played golf … Earned academic honors for art, specializing in drawing.

From his high school recruiting, the best tidbit I could find was: "With prodding from the media, he said Liberty and East Tennessee State showed serious recruiting interest." As someone else noted, perhaps his offers were limited if teams had a sense they had a limited shot at him.
He also tore his ACL during his Junior season of HS, and then added a year of prep school so he's certainly an older guy at this point in his career - which is generally a good thing. I like the 'coaches son' aspect of him too, ensuring he has a high game IQ. Without playing meaningful minutes at Kentucky its hard to say what he truly brings to the table for the Titans and his upside potential.

He could help us. On a 17 player roster last year, we carried 8 guards. 5 scholarship and 3 walk-ons including Antoine. I'll leave it to the coaches to determine who gets what financial aid. We have a very experienced director of BB operations. I hope he decides to play for the Titans.

Let’s face it, we have no idea what we are going to get if he joins us. He redshirted last year and his playing time his first two years at UK was basically so low it was nil. I hope we get him, as was mentioned - his basketball IQ must be through the roof. He’s experienced in years and probably looking to prove himself outside his dad’s shadows. We could be just the place for him. If he can make clean passes and dribble a basketball with confidence he doesn’t need to be a great shooter with guys like AD and Isiani on the floor.
We really need to put names on the backs of the jerseys if we have guys like “Davis”, “Rose”, “Calipari” on the team.
