Just what a winless team needs….forfeits due to unvaccinated players and/or coaches. Once again, I feel the AD has failed to be aware of everything going on. I have not been happy with everything going on in the Women's program, but I will give the AD and Teri a pass on this one. PTC outlines the chaos in the HL policies over the testing and forfeits. As the policy stands now the HL Commissioner has the final subjective say on no contest or forfeit. I suspect that the women's record has a lot to do with how subjective the decision was. I do not believe there are any unvaccinated players or staff. I know they were scrambling to get everyone tested after Christmas and before flying out to Wisconsin. The team in not on campus because the dorms are closed. They do not live in off campus housing like many of the men. They are housed in a motel for the break. With last minute changes to policies and a compressed schedule things were hectic. My guess, which I will never be able to prove, is that if we were a contender, we would have received a no contest decision. They were not going to give Green Bay the class of the league over the years with a vocal head coach a no contest with a team that is expected to finish in last place. My two cents worth.

Guys, show some respect. Betty White died at the young age of 99. We shouldn’t be talking about playing sports ever again. Everyone should stay in their homes indefinitely until modern science cures death.

Timing is everything, she was born 2 days before my mother in 1922, Betty White lived 61 years longer than mom.

The US Secretary of Defense announced that he has tested positive for Covid and is experiencing mild symptoms. He will quarantine for 5 days. The HL Commissioner will now determine whether our next war will be merely rescheduled or be deemed a cancellation or a forfeit.

I'm praying that the HL Commissioner decides to postpone and reschedule the Oakland game to a date later in January. Also, I pray that the HL Covid rules will not wipe out this entire 5-game home stand. It was not promising to read Tony Paul's tweet that we did not practice yesterday. And I'm still not aware that anyone is sick.

I just had a friend with his whole family vaccinated and got it. He was out for two weeks almost. Told me he was working from home and had to take off time during that stretch(not all of it but it was hard). His symptoms were almost the same as mine minus the bad nights sweats(I had). We could be looking at no home games down this stretch.

His symptoms were almost the same as mine minus the bad nights sweats(I had). We could be looking at no home games down this stretch. I don't believe that anyone is sick. I believe that we are dealing with multiple positive test results in Tier 1 vaccinated people. Because they are Tier 1 people, the HL has specific rules that must be followed. These include contact tracing rules and minimum time periods in quarantine. One rule is that any player who tests positive cannot play for the next 10 days after the test. If the first positive tests occurred on December 28th which is the date on the very first Tweet that broke this story (see the first post in this thread), then none of those players can play until January 8th. If any new players tested positive yesterday, then none of them can play until January 13th. I don't know if any of the original players who tested positive on the 28th and who may also have still been positive yesterday start another 10 day period from yesterday. If so, then we may not be able to play any games until January 13th which is scheduled to be at PFW. The only slack cut by the HL is that any asymptomatic positives may practice with a mask on starting after the 5th day after the positive test. Yesterday would have been the first day on which any of those players could have practiced; but we did not practice according to Tony Paul's tweet. So, we likely have a group of asymptomatic vaccinated players who have tested positive. And there were still positive test results yesterday. The HL is one of the few D-1 leagues left continuing forfeit as the default result for teams unable to play due to Covid. There is no room left on the schedule for the HL to give us back our lost home games except to move the Oakland game to later in the year. Otherwise, there is a good chance that we will end up playing most of our league games on the road this season. Then, there is another issue coming into play - the NCAA rule that requires any team to play 25 games in order to be eligible for postseason play.

I have a feeling this game is canceled unless the HL changes the COVID protocol and this is what we are really waiting for. If the HL will change or not (just an opinion).

But will the HL Commissioner deem it cancelled, postponed, or a forfeit? And who knows if more HL teams have a Covid problem? We have not practiced at all for a week now because of the HL-mandated quarantine. When can IUPUI and UIC return to action? The WCC just postponed a big game between Gonzaga vs San Francisco due to Covid issues at Gonzaga.
