Former Kansas center Silvio De Sousa is facing a battery charge from an incident on January 1 of this year. De Sousa had a strange career at Kansas. He was a top 40 recruit who didn't play much as a freshman and then was suspended for a year following that big scandal from a couple of years ago. He played last year but was suspended for multiple games following an in game brawl. About two weeks ago he announced he was leaving the team (this would have been his senior year) to deal with a personal matter. Looks like this might have been what he was referring to. www.si.com/college/2020/10/28/silvio-de-sousa-kansas-facing-aggravated-battery-charge

Big 12 Preseason Poll.
1. Baylor 2. Kansas 3. West Virginia 4. Texas 5. Texas Tech 6. Oklahoma 7. Oklahoma State 8. Iowa State 9. TCU 10. Kansas State
For my money, the best top to bottom conference in the nation.

Greg Brown is playing well for Texas and the Horns are 7-1 and ranked 8 in the nation going into today's game at #3 Kansas. That blessing of returning so much production has had a downside, as two players have left the Texas team this season. They are sophomore center Will Baker, who transferred to Nevada, and junior forward Gerald Liddell, who has announced today that he is entering the transfer portal. Both guys were very highly ranked recruits who struggled to find playing time with Texas this year.

GREAT news regarding leukemia survivor Andrew Jones, from Jeff Goodman: "Best news of the day from the college hoops front? Andrew Jones had 20 points in 21 minutes in Texas’ 92-76 win over UTSA in a scrimmage. Also 3-for-6 from deep. Matt Coleman had 19, Jase Febres with 17. UTSA was led by Jhivvan Jackson’s 30 points." Andrew Jones, who fought off leukemia over the past couple of years, gets my vote for the best story in college basketball this year. Jones is averaging 12 points per game this season, and showing no ill effects. Keep praying for this young man and his inspirational story. Andrew Jones still healthy and playing well for the Longhorns, two years after his leukemia diagnosis. Averaging 13 points per game. What a great story. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/4066325/andrew-jones
