Reports state that Houston coach Kelvin Sampson has interviewed for the Milwaukee Bucks head coaching job.
I've often said that if I was a great basketball coach I would rather coach in the pros than college. For one thing, the money is much bigger. Also, the college coaching job seems like such a big headache these days. You've always had to deal with things like boosters, player issues, eligibility, etc., but now you've got the added issues of the portal and NIL. At least in the pros you get guys locked in on a contract for a few years.

The transfer portal has turned NCAA basketball players into mercenaries. For the first time in my life I didnt watch a single minute of the NCAA tournament. I did watch UofM lose to Vanderbilt in the NIT tournament.

I did watch a lot of the tournament, though. The NCAA needs to simplify and clarify the transfer rules, and there have to be some real guidelines put in for NIL. Otherwise, the schools willing to give out the biggest salaries are going to get the best players. And then it's just pro sports. And I'm not sure there is a really big market for minor league pro basketball.

WVU promotes assistant to interim head coach. WVU admin reportedly reached out to several candidates, but the timing is really bad for someone to switch programs. WVU fans are hoping that the elevation of an assistant coach will allow the team to keep most of their roster together.

Couple of Big 12 commitments caught my eye over the weekend, with Micah Robinson choosing TCU aqnd Jeremiah Johnson picking Oklahoma State.
Don't know much about either player, but if this highlight reel is any indication, Jeremiah Johnson has a true killer instinct!
