We need to get back on the Spartans schedule. That might be difficult considering that Mike Davis' Texas Southern team upset MSU in December of 2014.

Hopefully, Izzo won't hold a grudge, although that seems to be his MO. With Power Five conferences going to 20 game conference schedules, it is going to be harder for mid major teams to schedule the high majors. Be nice if Michigan and Michigan State showed a little brotherly love for the state mid majors and helped out the Michigan MAC and HL teams. I imagine playing the Titans at Breslin would be a more appealing game for the MSU fans than taking on Binghamton, which is a home opponent for the Spartans this year.

More appealing for fans, but not for the MSU coach. And the fans will sell the place out either way.

Draymond Green has reportedly agreed to a four year/$100 million extension with the Warriors. Per Graham Couch of the Lansing Journal, Dray will bypass Zach Randolph as the highest earning former Spartan in NBA history.
In this era of transfers, it's worth noting that Dray was a bit player at MSU as a freshman and considered transferring. Fortunately for all involved, he stuck around East Lansing.

Jon Rothstein with this comment on MSU's schedule this year:
"In the first four weeks of the 2019-20 college basketball season, Michigan State will play Kentucky (Champions Classic), visit Seton Hall (Gavitt Games), and host Duke (ACC/Big Ten Challenge). That doesn't include three games at the Maui Invitational. Izzo gonna Izzo."
Say what you want about Tom Izzo (and there are valid criticisms that can be made), the man knows how to run a basketball program.

Per Jon Rothstein on Twitter, Josh Langford and Kyle Aherns are both healthy and cleared for all basketball activities. Good news for the Spartans, who were cursed with the injury bug last season.

2020 recruit AJ Hoggard verbally committed to Michigan State. AJ is a 6-3 point guard. This is kind of a surprise commitment, considering that Izzo already has a four star point guard committed for the class.

Interesting. Izzo got another 4-star point guard to commit last week--my guess is Terry felt "recruited over."

It is interesting, because the rankings I have seen put Hoggard and Terry on even terms, with most putting Terry a few spots higher. I was surprised when Hoggard committed to MSU last week.

In the two months since this was posted, both Aherns and Langford have suffered setbacks. Aherns was sidelined for awhile, but is expected to play tomorrow against Kentucky. Langford is expected to be out at least until January, but the feeling you get is that that prediction is wishful thinking.
