August Haas is leaving Milwaukee's program. Haas led the team in assists as a freshman in 2017, and was second in 2018. But his poor shooting led to a reduction in playing time. He averaged over 20 minutes a game this year (down from 28) but was below that in the team's last 8 games.

Former Milwaukee coach Rob Jeter, who spent the past year as an assistant at UNLV, is taking an assistant coach job at U of Minnesota.

Three of the Panthers' best players are transferring. Brock Stull, Nze, and Jeremiah Bell. Link to Milwaukee reporter's Twitter. Stull is a grad transfer. The other two will have to sit out a year.

Wow. All of these guys would get major minutes next year. I doubt any are good enough for high major offers - well, maybe Stull as depth on the bench. I guess the new coach wasn't too popular.

Personally, none of them look like high major players to me, but all it takes is one school looking to add some depth. Milwaukee stays busy on the recruiting front, making offers to two 2019 UD Jesuit players, Daniel Friday and 6-8 Jalen Adams.

Milwaukee seems to have something good going on in recruiting the class of 2018. After landing Shae Mitchell (above) earlier, they landed a verbal commitment from Tyronn Mosley on Sunday. Mosley is a 6-5 guard from Chicago who had offers from Duquesne (glad someone from the HL is beating out Duquesne for recruits), Bradley, and DePaul. He had interest from several high majors and took an unofficial visit to Michigan. At one point last year, Mosley was rated a four star recruit by Scout and was ranked the number 83 player in the nation. Rivals currently lists him as a three star recruit. All in all, a very good commitment for Milwuakee if they hold on to him. Kudos to the coaching staff. Mosley de-committed from Milwaukee from Milwaukee and is taking a prep school year. He will be a class of 2019 recruit.

The Panthers get a commitment from 6-8, 220 JUCO power forward Amir Allen. Allen will be in the class of 2018, but has three years of eligibility left. He had offers from a solid group of mid majors. Averaged 12 points and 7 rebounds per game, shooting 63% from the floor. Looks like a solid acquisition for Milwaukee. nocmavs.com/sports/mbkb/2017-18/bios/allen_amir_m487

While I'm sure Milwaukee fans were shaken by the three recent transfers of their top scorers and the earlier transfer of rotation guard Jeremy Johnson, I have to credit the Panthers for quickly adding pieces to the 2018 recruiting class. In fact, the Milwaukee class of 2018 is pretty promising. While losing those transfers hurt in the near term, I admire the Milwaukee staff for continuing to build the roster.
The cream of the 2018 Panther crop is Shae Mitchell, a 6-6 small forward from Minnesota, currently rated a three star recruit by ESPN. He's probably a solid rotation guy as a freshman, with a high ceiling. The Panthers recently added Illinois transfer Te'Jon Lucas, another ESPN three star who averaged 6 points and 3 assists in 19 minutes per game for the Illini. He has to sit a year, but could be a problem for the rest of the HL in 2019-20. Miami Ohio grad transfer Jake Wright committed to Milwaukee yesterday. He averaged 6 ppg for Miami last season, down from 9 the year before. Solid three point shooter who will probably be a rotation player for the Panthers.
Milwaukee also signed a JUCO small forward and two JUCO shooting guards so far during the signing period. They have a verbal commitment from a JUCO power forward, but I don't believe he has signed his LOI yet.
Looks like a potentially very good class for Milwaukee, and it also illustrates that Detroit is falling further behind other programs while the coaching search continues.
Checked in on the Milwaukee fan message board, despite some recent recruiting success and an five game improvement in the win column this season, including wins over Loyola and Iowa State, the tone is decidedly negative. Lots of hate for the AD and University president, woes over shrinking attendance, and some talk of the program dropping all the way down to D3. Sounded very familiar.

Milwaukee continues to add pieces, picking up transfer Harrison Henderson from USC. Potentially, this could be a nice pick up for the Panthers. Henderson was a solid three star recruit out of high school, with offers from several high majors. He's listed at 6-10, 220. He only played a total of 76 minutes during his Trojan career, but without looking into it, I can't tell you why he played so little. If he can come close to his high school projections, he should be a contributor to Milwaukee. He will join the Panthers in 2019-20, along with the guard they got as a transfer from Illinois.
