HSScout says Nelson's visit was official, which would make sense given the timing.

Northwestern Ohio has offered Pickerington Central F Juan Elmore - It's his first offer Though we haven't offered, Elmore is clearly on our radar, and seems (at least from what I've read down here in Central Ohio) like a good, hard-working kid. Unfortunately, most folks slot him as a D2 or marginal D1 talent. It would be great to see him have a huge senior year and become a legit, first tier mid-major recruit, although on a Pickerington team loaded with talent, it might be hard to stand out. Elmore is visiting West Virginia State today. I wonder if this is the type of player who would accept a preferred walk on spot, especially considering how much he enjoyed our campus during the basketball camp he attended, and if his high school teammate Nelson ends up committing

So all 4 of them could be back next year unless they decide to transfer down or think it's just not worth the work to be on the team.

Adrian Nelson commits - very nice way to start the class of 2018. If Khalil Chatman is also on board, things are looking up. It also opens up a recruiting pipeline to the fertile basketball area in Pickerington Ohio. Locking up player(s) before the early signing period is such a relief!

I agree Scout, who was the lead recruiter for Nelson?

I agree Scout, who was the lead recruiter for Nelson? I don't have that answer, but I recall hearing that Pete Kahler was their recruiter in Ohio. Per his bio on the school's website: "We value his contacts in Ohio, New England and several Catholic Leagues throughout the Midwest.” Remember too that BA coached at Ohio University for a while so he is likely well connected in the State

Likely, it is both. Caris LeVert is a Pickerington alum. He had committed to Ohio U when Groce was the coach there. Then, Groce was hired by Illinois. LeVert then switched to Michigan.

Yeah, it is always good to get that first recruit. Feels like it takes a load off, even though it is still early in the recruiting cycle. You don't want to be trying to fill that whole class in the Spring.

Excellent news and welcome Adrian! A very solid player--not a "we'll settle for" recruit. He should do very well in the Horizon.
We reportedly have an offer out to Cole Landes, a big man in Pickeringtons class of 19. I thought no this can only bode well for that offer too.

Washington received an offer from UCLA. His ranking certainly does not reflect his offers. Duane Washington commits to Ohio State

Why is Lamar Norman visiting at Cleveland State? I do hope we sign someone in the early period this year. Usually it's about now kids start announcing in significant numbers. Educated guess (with the emphasis on guess) for an early signing: Brandon Wade PG from Ann Arbor Skyline Here's an article on Wade visiting Duquesne today. pittsburghsportsnow.com/2017/09/21/pg-brandon-wade-making-official-visit-duquesne/. Note the final line: "Wade tells PSN that he’s also considering Loyola-Chicago (made an official there already), Toledo (has official visit set) and Cal-Poly."

That article features a prominent image of the Duquesne logo, which looks a LOT like the new Detroit M logo. Except, of course, you can actually make out the D in the Duquesne logo without it being obscured by an M.

Amari Kelly has taken official visits to La. Tech and Duquesne this week. We don't appear to be in the running.
