According to the other Board, at the golf outing, Davis said 9 players are committed to attend over the past month. You guys have no idea how much it aggregates me that I cant get confirmation on the final 4 names (although I bet I could name at least 2 or 3 of them). However, that's assuming he's not including the returners in the committed 9. Go ahead and name them Scout, we wont tell.

Holland, Knight, Davis, Moore, Rossler plus 4 unknown/unconfirmed names... BTW, it looks like former commit BJ Simmons will now attend Trinity Valley Community College

You still haven't named 2 or 3 as you said you could. I'm keeping an eye on former TSU players/commits, various JUCO players and transfers that are available, plus areas of the country with connections to our new staff. I could be completely off base, but I'd bet at least two of the openings will be filled the likes of Damon Harge, Jojo Anderson, Trayvon Reed, Trae Jefferson, Jalan Brown. (I'm suspicious of D1 players who have yet to announce where they are headed, but aren't panicking only a few weeks from the start of classes). Maybe Jamail Pink, or a JUCO like Andre Allen could be eligible/reclassify back to 2018 (the whole JUCO scene is hard to predict because we don't know who's eligible after one year and who still isn't eligible after 2 years, etc). I've been keeping an eye on a few unsigned seniors in the Texas/Houston area and am now starting to search the Chicagoland area/Chicago State roster for possiblities. The times have changed from the day when knowing the top 25 seniors in Michigan and returning/local JUCO's would fill the vast majority of our roster.

For example, someone like JUCO 3rd team all American (same as T Knight) Christian Jacob. He committed to Chicago St (connection), is a tall player/Center (6'8") which is an area of need.

So I'll answer your question with a wild/semi educated guess/maybe wishful thinking: let's say we add Anderson (who sits a year/replaces McFolley in 2018/19), Harge, JUCO Jacob (who we'll assume received a release) and I'll make Reed my 4th although I don't have as much confidence in that one. If I get zero or one, it wouldn't be a surprise. If I get 2 or 3, then I'm going to buy a lottery ticket. So my original statement that "I bet I could name 2 or 3 of them" wasn't really correct, but maybe I should have said, I bet I could list maybe 8 to 10 names from which 2 or 3 of our open spots may be filled

Christian Jacob averaged 19.3 points and 12.7 rebounds at Kankakee. That put him third in NJCCA rebounds per game. But Kankakee was just 14-19, and Jacob had no other public offers.

Either way, He is connected to Dildy, who recruited him to Chicago St, was a productive, 3rd team All American, and would fill a need on our team (rebounding, height, scoring). He also has no social media presence that I could find, plus Chicago State basketball is a media information black hole. I'm thinking he could very well be an under the radar possibility

Christian Jacob has a nice stat line, decent size and he's from a state that has 13 division 1 basketball teams, I'm baffled as to why he chose to attend Chicago State?

Where are we coming up with these guys? I think the variety of commits--California, Florida, Georgia (the Country), Chicago--indicates that the incoming staff is pretty well connected. I'm not overly optimistic--let's be honest, at this point, for the most part, teams are picking through the leftovers. At the same time, I'm not pessimistic--there is some immediate help in the transfers, at least some size, a couple guys with D-I experience. It would appear we have 3 scholarships unspoken for. I wonder if we will use them all.

With most colleges starting class on Monday, there are an awful lot of publicly uncommitted transfers connected to Detroit or Texas Southern-- JJJ, Ballantyne, Damon Harge, JoJo Anderson (who seems to be going somewhere), Trae Jefferson (who may be going no where).
Interesting, to say the least.
