Plenty of colleges are taking advantage of summer overseas trips to prepare for the upcoming season. It's generally a useful tool for building chemistry and getting an early start on the season. For those who are interested in the results, we can use this thread to keep track.

Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein 43m Indiana begins five-game exhibition tour Friday night in Montreal. Very important trip for the Hoosiers, who need to find a post presence.

Indian lost to Ottawa 109-101 in Montreal this weekend. It's early, but that's not a good sign for the Hoosiers.

That's like, a horrible sign. UIC plays Ottawa this week. It will be interesting to see how they do.

Some quick research shows that Ottawa was 36-3 last year, and was national runner-up in Canada's intercollegiate championship. They beat TCU last year in an exhibition. So maybe this isn't quite so bad a sign as I first thought.

So maybe this isn't quite so bad a sign as I first thought. Given those facts, the loss doesn't look quite as bad. That UIC game will be worth watching. This is a big year for Crean and Indiana. He's had a couple of Sweet Sixteen trips with the Hoosiers, but failing to make any kind of post season four out of his six years in Bloomington is not winning him any new fans.

I'd much rather be in British Columbia in August than in the Bahamas!

Kentucky won 81-58. It was close for a half; in fact, Kentucky trailed most of the first half.
The Wildcats are BIG. Of their top ten guys, six are 6-8 or taller, including four who are 6-11 or more. Jay Bilas says their second team guys could make a top twenty team.
