Tracye Jackson Davis had a masterful game last night, with 12 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 blocks, and 3 steals. It was only the third triple double in Indiana's storied history, and you probably wouldn't be able to guess who got the other two.
Head coach Mike Woodson publicly praised Davis for his performance last night, but knowing Woodson, I'm guessing he'll be harping on Trayce's four turnovers today in private during practice.
The other two Hoosier triple doubles were done by Steve Downing in 1971 and Juwan Morgan in 2018.

Could be big news coming out of the Big 10/14/16. Indiana got blown out by Kansas today, but that's not the story. Hoosier point guard Xavier Johnson left the game with a leg injury and came back to the bench on crutches and in a walking boot.

Per Fox Sports, Northwestern has beaten Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan State in the same season for the first time since the 1960s! Surprisingly good season for the Wildcats so far.

Midpoint check in on the Big 14:
So far this season, the Big Ten is looking solid. There are 8 members of the conference in the NET Top 50, second only to the Big 12. Only two teams are in the AP Top 25, #3 Purdue and #18 Wisconsin, but several clubs are just on the outside. Some notable storylines:
- Purdue looks beastly, with a one point loss to Rutgers the only blemish on their 15-1 record. - Michigan State has won seven in a row and recently got Malik Hall back from injury. - Northwestern is defying expectations at 12-3. - Indiana, the preseason favorite, came into the season particularly vulnerable to injury at the center spot and point guard. They got hurt at both spots. Trace Jackson Davis has struggled with a back injury and missed three games. Point guard Xavier Johnson has missed four games and isn't expected back anytime soon. The Hoosiers lost to Iowa by two and Northwestern by one in their last two games. - Michigan is 9-6/3-1 and has been weirdly inconsistent, losing to CMU and blowing out Maryland by 35 in back to back games. - Penn State has been a pleasant surprise at 11-5. - Iowa had a historic loss to Eastern Illinois but has seem to be finding their footing.
Look for the Big 14 to be well represented in the NCAA tournament, but don't be surprised if they have a another disappointing showing.
Note: When Mike Woodson took over as IU's coach, the team hadn't made the NCAA tournament since 2016. In his first year, they made the Big Dance. This week, with the team at 10-5 after serious injury issues and two consecutive conference losses by a total of 3 points, there is a loud group of "fans" on social media and sports radio calling for Woody's termination. People are stupid.

Watching OT Michigan vs. IOWA Fun game on ESPN. Holy smokes. Hawkeye City fans are really loud cheering on Murrey with 25 points. Howard's son is the real deal. He's made a name for himself with over 30 points. He can score the NBA 3 point shot.

Indiana, still missing their starting point guard, have won 5 in a row. I am guessing that the "fire Woodson" calls have slowed down.
The "fire Collins" calls have stopped at Northwestern, with the Wildcats playing excellent basketball this season, even after losing two of last year's starters to the portal last spring.
Penn State seems to have made a very good choice when they hired former Purdue assistant Micah Shrewsbury a couple of years ago.
I didn't expect Purdue to be better after the departure of two of last season's stars, Detroiter Trevion Williams and current Piston Jaden Ivey.

Certainly the Big Ten's best shot this season to break the NC-less streak.

Indiana is one of the most storied and celebrated programs in college basketball. Tracye Jackson Davis can add his name prominently to that history. He is the first Hoosier in history with 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. He has carried that team pretty much his entire career and has enjoyed some team success under Mike Woodson.
