Spoke to one of the assistants after tonight’s event. He said we have three firm commitments in addition to Pink. A 7-1 grad transfer, a 6-11 freshman, and another grad transfer (I’m guessing BJ Maxwell). We had a 6-8 Belgium kid ready to sign but he backed out due to the APR issue. We hope to get at least two more commitments soon and look for the entire recruiting class to be wrapped up and announced in about two weeks. Cian Sullivan (from Ireland) a grad transfer from LaSalle with 2 years eligibility remaining, is the only 7+' player listed on verbal commits, who's a grad transfer and still uncommitted. Kelvin Jones, at 6'11", from Idaho State, is the other player that is close in height, and an unsigned grad transfer. Jones is the far better player of the two, just based on scoring and playing time Jones is visiting Virginia Tech and Oregon State.

Stats and measurements make me think of Roschon Prince, but I don't know if they play the same. Has had some Academic success, which is good considering our APR issues. I wonder why he is transferring; Louisiana was 19-13, 10-8 last season.

I would give us a slight chance against Oregon State, if Virginia Tech offers Jones we can scratch him off the list.

Although verbal commits and Jeff Goodman say he's not a grad transfer, I just read someone online, claiming to be his cousin, saying that he is indeed a grad transfer. So I guess we'll have to wait and see

Tennessee State just received a commitment from WVU grad transfer Wesley Harris, 6'8" forward. Since Miller visited TSU before visiting here, maybe the odds of him signing with us have increased. Or maybe he has already signed with us. I don't think he is a grad transfer, but he certainly appears to have the attributes of a player who could be granted immediate eligibility under the new NCAA criteria. The photos of him at the Motown museum make him look huge. It sure would be a plus to add him to the front line along with the players rogobob described about 10 days ago.

Or he could be graduating this summer, thus making him a grad transfer and giving the coaching staff a convenient excuse for not announcing him

Be nice if he is a grad transfer and immediately eligible. He's the type of player that would seem to fill a need on the front line this season.

Nationally we're seeing a flurry of JUCO visits and commitments as semesters end and academic standing is clarified, so maybe we'll see some news regarding the Titans and JUCO products soon. My working theory is that we've targeted some players in the grad transfer and JUCO ranks that still needed to be academically qualified and/or cleared, based in part on the assistant coach telling Rogobob77 on May 17 that we hoped to have some things wrapped up in two weeks.
I still have the feeling that it is going to be a long summer waiting on things to be finalized.

As a frame of reference for this potential new player.
Justin Miller's stats against Georgia State last season.
1/10/19 - at Georgia State: 33 minutes, 13 points, 13 rebounds, 5-7 FT's. Louisiana lost 89-76
2/8/19 - vs Georgia State: 36 minutes, 8 points, 13 rebounds, 2-2 FT's. Louisiana won 76-72.
If he has committed to us, this would be great news.
