Thursday, February 14 The HL is soooo tight.
Detroit 90, Milwaukee 84. The Titans snap a losing streak--man, those final 4 minutes took a long time--and are now in tied with OU for 5th. The Titans win when at least two players other than Antoine score in double figures. Tonight it was Josh, Curry, and King. Making 31 of 38 free throws sure didn't hurt, either.
Green Bay 66, Oakland 54. Green Bay (13-13, 7-6) never trailed in this one, and finally took control with a 12-0 run early in the second half. Tank Hemphill had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Oakland's Brad Brechting continued his recent tear with 15 points and 15 rebounds in defeat. The Grizzlies are 11-16, 7-7.
Youngstown State 75, IUPUI 73. Youngstown's Donel Cathcart hit a three with 8 seconds left, and Nick Rogers' effort to return the favor with 2 seconds left was off the mark, giving YSU its 5th straight win. Earlier the Penguins (11-16, 7-7) had blown a 15 point second half lead. Freshman Darius Quisenberry led YSU with 17 points and 8 assists. DJ McCall had 16 points for IUPUI (14-12, 6-7).
UIC 81, Cleveland State 77. Led by 16 second half points from Tyree Appleby, CSU (7-20, 2-12) rallied from 13 down to tie it with 10 seconds to play, but UIC (14-12, 8-5) pulled it out with a bucket by Marcus Ottey, a CSU turnover, and a couple of Tarkus Ferguson free throws.
HL Standings: 1. Northern Kentucky 10-3 2. Wright State 9-4 3. UIC 8-5 4. Green Bay 7-6 5. Oakland 7-7 6. Detroit 7-7 7. Youngstown State 7-7 8. IUPUI 6-7 9. Milwaukee 4-9 10. Cleveland State 2-12
The Titans could be as high as 4th or as low as 8th after Saturday.
Titan Non-Conference Opponents Kent State 82, Western Michigan 63. Kent State pulled away with a 51-point second half. Jaylin Walker had 25 for the Flash (18-6). WMU drops to 7-18.
Other Games #3 Gonzaga 73, Loyola Marymount 60. Loyola Marymount (17-9) trailed by just 1 at halftime. #9 Houston 71, Connecticut 63.
Illinois 63, Ohio State 56. A home loss to Illinois isn't good for OSU's at-large plans.
Belmont 77, Tennessee State 66. Murray State 73, Austin Peay 71. Ja Morant haad 32 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists for Murray State. The Racers (20-4) and Belmont (20-4) are left tied atop the Ohio Valley, with Austin Peay (18-7) a game behind.
Omaha 85, South Dakota State 84. Omaha came back from an 18 point second-half deficit and won it on a Mitch Hahn jumper at the buzzer. Hahn finished with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists, as Omaha (15-9) moves to within a half game of first place SD State (20-7) in the Summit. Freshman David Jenkins had 34, and Mike Daum, the nation's #5 scorer, added 29 for SD State.
Sacred Heart 105, Bryant 104. Don't see many scores like this, especially with no overtimes. Montana 83, Weber State 80. Montana (18-6) leads the Big Sky. Sayeed Pridgett had 29 points and 16 rebounds against third place Weber State (15-10).

Friday, February 15
Horizon Wright State 81, Northern Kentucky 77. Wright State moves into a tie for first in the HL, although as it stands now, NKU still holds the tie-breaker by virtue of a win over 3rd place UIC. Playing in Dayton, the Norse broke a 20-all tie with a 13-0 run midway through the first half, then pushed the lead to 16 points with under 5:00 left in the half. Wright State countered with a 13-0 run of their own, with the first 10 points all coming from Billy Wampler, and NKU eventually entered the locker room up 5. The teams went back and forth with a series of mini-runs in the second half, and were tied at 75-all with 1:20 left. Wampler then hit a layup, and he and Loudon Love each made one of two free throws for a 4 point Raider lead. After another Norse miss, Alan Vest clinched it with two free throws with 10 seconds to play. Wampler finished with 29 and Loudon 20 for Wright State (16-11, 10-4). Drew McDonald led Northern (20-7, 10-4) with 23 points.
Titan Non-Conference Opponents #25 Buffalo 88, Toledo 82. Milan's Nick Perkins had a career high 26 points as Buffalo rallied to beat Toledo in Savage Hall. Toledo (20-5) really had to have this win to have any chance of entering the at-large pool for the NCAAs. For a while it looked good, as the Rockets jumped out to a 17-4 lead, and Buffalo star CJ Massingburg picked up his third personal with 4:30 left in the first half and Toledo still up by 10. But the Bulls didn't panic, and finally got their first lead midway through the second half. Barring a complete collapse in the next two weeks, Buffalo (22-3) looks good for the at-large field, so the MAC can still hope for two entries this year with a conference tournament upset.
Other Games Harvard 78, Princeton 69. Davidson 80, St. Joseph's 72. Davidson (19-6) takes a half game lead in the A10 race. Canisius 72, Fairfield 68. Canisius, just 12-13 overall, slips into first place in the MAAC. It's a very down year for the MAAC, with only third place Quinnipiac above .500 for the season.
Georgia State 90, South Alabama 81. Ray McCallum's squad, now 18-8 overall, moves to within a half game of Texas State for the Sunbelt Conference lead.

Friday, February 15HorizonWright State 81, Northern Kentucky 77. Drew McDonald led Northern (20-7, 10-4) with 23 points. Interestingly, the outcome of this game gets influenced greatly by another dubious play by a WSU big against an NKU driver under the same basket that similar incidents occurred against Josh in 2018 and Antoine least week. NKU's Tate was fouled by Hughes as he drove the basket. Love then reaches in and hooks Tate's arm causing him to fall on his tailbone. Common foul is called against Hughes. No foul against Love for contact after the whistle or maybe even a hook and hold. On the one of the next series down court, Tate drives strongly to the hoop and makes the basket. He gets called for a T when he briefly yells something after he completes the strong play. That is his 5th foul with 4:24 remaining. Not that I have any sympathy or empathy for NKU. But I just note the original play that put Tate on his back after the whistle; and, the resulting DQ of him because he expressed about 1 second of emotion after completing a hard drive against WSU. This year, in the 3 games I've watched at the Nutter, I've seen the incident vs UIC that caused the DQ of three of their players; the incident vs Antoine that caused the DQ of our head coach; and, now this incident that led to the DQ of Tate. Plus last year, Josh was thrown on his back after the whistle. And Kam Chatman had his head cut open by a WSU elbow at Calihan. Just noting this expanding list for the record.

Horizon
Green Bay 82, Detroit 73. Good game by Green Bay (14-13, 8-6). Davis wasn't shooting well and the Titan offense collapsed into playground ball. Just 5 assists today.
Oakland 89, Milwaukee 73. When Oakland signed 6-11 Brad Brechting in 2015, I thought they'd done very well. For three and a half years (including an injury redshirt year) Brechting did almost nothing. But the guy is suddenly on fire, averaging 20.2 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks over OU's last 6 games. Today he had 21, 6 and 4 in pacing OU (12-16, 8-7) past the Panthers. Vance Johnson had 25 points and 9 rebounds for Milwaukee (9-18, 4-10)
Youngstown State 81, UIC 73. YSU (12-16, 8-7) won it's 6th in a row behind 37 points from freshman Darius Quisenberry. This is YSU's longest winning streak since 1998. The Penguins, usually one of the league's sad-sacks in attendance, drew almost 5000 fans for this one. A little winning streak can go a long way.
Cleveland State 89, IUPUI 86. The Vikings (8-20, 3-12) rallied from an early 15 point deficit, then watched their own 9 point lead turn into a late three point deficit, before rallying again to win. Tyree Appleby led the way with 26 points and 11 assists. The CSU win keeps the Titans from falling all the way to 8th place, as IUPUI falls to 6-8 in the conference, 14-13 overall.
Horizon Standings (with current tiebreakers) 1. Northern Kentucky 10-4 2. Wright State 10-4 3. Green Bay 8-6 4. UIC 8-6 5. Oakland 8-7 6. YSU 8-7 7. Detroit 7-8 8. IUPUI 6-8 9. Milwaukee 4-10 10. Cleveland State 3-12
The Titans magic number to clinch a tournament spot is 1, any Titan win or Milwaukee defeat will do the job.
Titan Non-Conference Opponents Kent State 71, Eastern Michigan 58. EMU's terribly disappointing season continues. Picked to win the MAC West, the Emus are just 11-13, with 4 of those wins over non-D1 competition. Kent State is 19-6.
Western Michigan 84, Miami (Oh) 79 (OT). Sophomore Kawanise Wilkins had a career best 26 points and Western (8-18) won in overtime.
Central Michigan 87, Ohio 80. Central (17-8), behind Shawn Roundtree's 22 points, outdid the Bobcats (11-13), who got 24 points and 13 boards from Ben Vander Plas.
Bowling Green 87, Northern Illinois 67. Detroit soph Justin Turner had 34 points for Bowling Green today, and the Falcons (18-7) moved back into a tie with Buffalo atop the MAC East.
Ball State 57, Akron 56. Both teams are 14-11. They were a combined 7-42 from three points today.
Xavier 75, Providence 62. The Musketeers (13-13) dominated the second half after trailing by 6 at the break. Tyrique Jones led Xavier with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Butler 91, DePaul 78. Butler (15-11) refuses to die in their at-large quest. Lunardi had them in the "first 4 out" before today's win.
VCU 69, Dayton 68. Dayton overcame a 22 point second half deficit with a 31-8 run ending with a big Obadiah Toppin dunk for the lead with just under 5 minutes to play. But VCU pulled itself together and the two squads traded leads until Marcus Evans' layup with 6 seconds left provided the winning margin. VCU (19-6) moves into a tie for first in the A10, while Dayton (16-9) falls 2 back with six to play.
Temple 70, South Florida 69 (OT). Temple (19-7) can't afford to lose many games, and just managed to escape with a win today. The Owls scored just 20 points in the first half, but rallied to force the extra period. There, with the score tied and one second left, Shiz Alston missed the first of two free throws but made the second for the win. USF is 17-8.
Other Games #6 Michigan 65, #24 Maryland 52. A nice defensive game for the Wolverines (23-3), holding the Terps (19-7) to 36% shooting and winning the turnovers 16-6. #5 Kentucky 86, #1 Tennessee 69. The Wildcats (21-4) opened the second half with a 14-0 run to blow open this SEC showdown. Is Kentucky now in line for a #1 seed? Does Tennessee (23-2) drop a line?
#2 Duke 94, North Carolina State 78. 32 points for Williamson, a triple-double for Barnett. #3 Gonzaga 79, San Diego 67. Rui Hachimura had 22 points and 10 rebounds as Gonzaga (25-2) got past a stubborn San Diego team (16-11). #4 Virginia 60, Notre Dame 54. Virginia's flagship school beats South Bend's flagship school.
#7 Nevada 82, Wyoming 49. Nevada and Houston are tied for the best record in the country at 24-1. #8 North Carolina 95, Wake Forest 57. #12 Purdue 76, Penn State 64. #14 Kansas 78, West Virginia 53. Kansas has won or shared the Big 12 regular season title for 14 straight years. Today's win leaves them tied for second with Texas Tech, 0.5 behind Kansas State--who happen to be the Jayhawks next two opponents. Today the Jayhawks (20-6) held WVU (10-15) to 16 first half points.
#15 Texas Tech 86, Baylor 61. #16 Louisville 56, Clemson 55. After blowing a 23 point second half lead against Duke earlier in the week, Louisville faced another meltdown. A free throw put Cardinals up by 7 with 17 seconds left, Marcquise Reed hit a three for Clemson with 9 seconds left. Louisville turned it over on the inbounds and another Reed three made it a 1 point game with 3 seconds left. Louisville then turned it over again on the inbounds, but Reed missed a hurried jumper for the win.
#17 Florida State 69, Georgia Tech 47. #23 Iowa State 78, #18 Kansas State 64. #19 Louisiana State 83, Georgia 79. #21 Iowa 71, Rutgers 69. Gio Baker hit a three with three ticks left on the clock, giving Rutgers the lead and an apparent victory. Iowa's in-bounds pass went the length of the court, was deflected by a Rutgers player, and ended up in the hands of Iowa's Joe Weiskamp, who heaved up a three from the corner just before the buzzer to give Iowa a victory.
#22 Virginia Tech 70, Pittsburgh 64.
Oklahoma 71, TCU 62. Two bubbly teams. Auburn 64, Vanderbilt 53. In his third season at Vanderbilt, Coach Bryce Drew is 0-12 in the SEC. Mississippi State 75, Arkansas 64. Mississippi 75, Missouri 65. Central Florida 79, Memphis 72. UCF is 19-5, and in third place in the AAC. Right now, Joe Lunardi has them in the field.
Drake 84, Valparaiso 79. Drake (20-7) claims its first 20-win season since 2008, and closes to within a half-game of first place Loyola in the MVC. Valpo falls to 13-14.
Wofford 80, UNC-Greensboro 50. Wofford (23-4) crushed second place Greensboro (22-5) in Southern Conference play. The Southern Conference is stronger than usual this year (12 in conference NET, with 4 teams in the top 75), and Wofford is a really good team, with a 20-point road win at South Carolina among its 23 victories. They've won 14 straight games, second longest current streak in the country, and are ranked #29 in NET. Their star, Fletcher Magee (a good Southern Conference name), had 26 points tonight.
Washington 72, Washington State 70. Washington (20-5) leads the PAC 12 by 3 games. Stanford 104, UCLA 80. The Bruins are below .500 since the coaching change. USC 89, California 66. Cal (5-20) is winless in the PAC 12. We woulda won that game.

There were so many missed free throws in that Temple/South Florida game. Shizz Alston, Jr. of Temple, an 89% shooter from the foul line, missed four of his nine tries yesterday, including some in the clutch. Titan fans can take heart from South Florida, though. USF was 10-22 last year in Brian Gregory's first season as head coach. They currently are 17-8.

Sunday, February 17
Big Games Around the Country #11 Michigan State 62, Ohio State 44. OSU (16-9) led by 6 at halftime, but scored just 13 points in the second half. State held OSU without a field goal for the final 7:30 of the game, outscoring the Buckeyes 20-2. It was a costly win for MSU (21-5), however, as Nick Ward broke his left hand--though the Spartans say it's a mere hairline fracture and they hope he'll be back yet this year.
#9 Houston 85, Tulane 50. St. John's 71, #13 Villanova 65. St. John's removed any doubt about whether they belong in the NCAA field. The Johnnies used a 20-5 run midway through the second half to overcome a 14 point deficit. LJ Figueroa led St. John's (19-7) with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Villanova (20-6) shot just 33% from the floor.
Seton Hall 81, Creighton 75. Seton Hall (16-9) is on the bubble. Creighton (13-13) is not.
Missouri State 65, Loyola 61. Loyola (16-11), Missouri State (15-12) and idle Drake are left in a three way tie for first in the MVC. MIssouri State has won the MVC just once since joining the conference in 1991; Drake just once since it's powerhouse days of the 1960s.
Quinnipiac 107, Siena 100 (3 OT). Quinnipiac's Cameron Young scored 55 points in this triple overtime thriller that left the Bobcats tied with Canisius atop the MAAC. Cameron made 15 of 25 from the field in setting MAAC and Quinnipiac records for points in a game. It was the third highest total in an NCAA game in the last 20 years. The game seems a bit reminiscent of the famous Hersey Hawkins/Archie Tullos shootout, as Siena's Jalen Pickett answered with 46 points on 14 of 26 shooting. In fact, the AP has been incorrectly reporting that this is the most points by opposing players since LSU's Pete Maravich had 64 and Kentucky's Dan Issel 51 in a 1970 matchup won by Kentucky. But Hawkins (63) and Tullos (49) in fact tallied 112 points to today's 101 point outburst--and they didn't need no stinkin' three overtimes to do it. Pickett, a freshman, also had 13 assists. He's averaged just 14 points per game this year. Young, a senior who also had a double-double with 10 rebounds, is a 21 point per game scorer. Meanwhile, it appears that nobody wants to win the MAAC. Six teams are now bunched within a game of one another at the top, and every team that moves into first seems to immediately lose.

Monday, February 18 A typically quiet Monday in college hoops. Why aren't George Washington and James Madison playing today?
Games Around the Country #3 Virginia 64, #20 Virginia Tech 58. #22 Wisconsin 64, Illinois 58. #23 Kansas State 65, West Virginia 51.
Oklahoma State 68, Texas Christian 61. A blow to TCU's at-large status, though absent a couple more slip-ups they're probably good. Norfolk State 76, North Carolina A&T 58. These two entered the night tied atop the MEAC at 9-1 in conference play.

Tuesday, February 19
Titan Non-Conference Opponents:
Eastern Michigan 76, Toledo 69. Eastern (12-14) finally played like the team people thought they would be. Elijah Minnie had 23. Toledo (20-6) seemed listless after their tough loss to Buffalo on Saturday.
Central Michigan 84, Kent State 74. Kent State (19-7) falls 3 games behind Buffalo and Bowling Green in the MAC East race. Central (18-8) closes to within a game of Toledo in the West.
Bowling Green 73, Akron 69. This Bowling Green team is no fluke. They've won 15 of 17. Detroit native Justin Tuner had 23 tonight and leads the Falcons (19-7) at 18.8 ppg. Akron is 14-12.
#25 Buffalo 114, Ohio 67. Ohio (11-14) has lost 6 in a row.
Dayton 74, Davidson 73. Dayton (17-9) stayed in the A10 race by edging the first-place Wildcats in Davidson. Davidson (19-7) came back from a 19 point deficit with under 10 minutes to play to tie it with 11 seconds left. Dayton star Josh Cunningham was fouled on the next possession and made one free throw with 3 seconds left.
Other Games #4 Kentucky 66, Missouri 58. Missouri rallied from 18 down but ran out of time. #5 Tennessee 58, Vanderbilt 46. #15 Purdue 48, Indiana 46. Purdue (19-7) won despite shooting 32% from the field, 20% from three, and 44% from the foul line. Carsen Edwards had a 4-42 night, including 0-10 from three. But Indiana (13-13) was just 28/21/61, and turned it over more.
#16 Florida State 77, Clemson 64. Baylor 73, #19 Iowa State 69. #24 Maryland 66, #21 Iowa 65. This game had 6 lead changes and 2 ties in the final 3 minutes.
Wake Forest 75, Notre Dame 68. VCU 76, Rhode Island 42. Coupled with Dayton's win over Davidson, tonight's easy win left VCU (20-6) in sole possession of first place in the Atlantic 10.
Drake 77, Bradley 68. You know, it won't happen, but a conference composed of the current MVC privates (Drake, Bradley, Loyola, Evansville, Valpo) plus Detroit and a couple other privates in the general area (Belmont? Lipscomb? Oral Roberts?) would be pretty good for us. Anyway, five players scored in double figures as Drake (21-7) moved a half game ahead of Loyola in the MVC race. Until the final 15 seconds, the biggest lead in tonight's game for either team, was 6 points.
Iona 81, Quinnipiac 77. I mentioned in Saturday's scoreboard that nobody wanted to win the MAAC--as soon as a team moved into first place, they lose. Happened again, as Quinnipiac falls after moving into first place over the weekend. The top 6 teams in the league are within a half game of one another.

Wednesday, February 20
Titan Non-Conference Opponents #11 Marquette 79, Butler 69. Butler (15-12) really needed this win for its NCAA chances, and had an 8 point lead early in the second half. But Marquette (22-4) rallied behind Markus Howard's 28 points for the win. Sean McDermott had 27 for Butler.
Xavier 70, Seton Hall 69. Xavier led by 16 after scoring with 6:23 to play, and lost all but 1 point of it. With 3 seconds to go, Shavar Reynolds missed a three that would have completed the rally. The Musketeers (14-13) are trying to avoid their first losing season since 1996. Seton Hall (16-10) is trying to hold on for an at-large bid.
Navy at Loyola (Md) was postponed. Who'd of thought that Navy would be deterred by a couple inches of snow?
Other Games #10 Michigan State 71, Rutgers 60. State trailed by 7 at the half. The Spartans actually have the most "Quadrant 1" wins in the country.
#8 North Carolina 88, #1 Duke 72. The TarHeels (21-5) roughed up Duke (23-3) good. Zion Williamson went down with an injury on Duke's first possession, and despite a combined 60 points from fellow freshmen RJ Barrett and Cameron Reddish, it was all UNC all the way. The Tar Heels never trailed and led by double digits for the final 18 minutes. Luke Maye scored 30 and Cameron Johnson scored 26 for UNC. Williamson hurt his knee when his shoe just fell apart, and his foot popped right through where the the rubber sole meets the body of the shoe. I wonder how much Duke's shoe contract is worth? No word yet on how serious Williamson's injury is, but knees are always scary.
San Diego State 65, #6 Nevada 57. San Diego State (17-9) stops Nevada's latest win streak at 10. Florida 82, #13 LSU 77 (OT). Florida (15-11) gets a huge road win. Lunardi had them as his last team in the field before tonight. Georgetown 85, #17 Villanova 73. Georgetown (16-10) is trying to insert itself in the at-large discussions. 'Nova has lost 3 of 4. Syracuse 69, #18 Louisville 49. Louisville is another team that is not playing good ball right now.
Mississippi State 68, Georgia 67. With 1 second left and the game tied, Georgia was assessed a technical foul when a fan threw a stuffed animal on the court. Quinn Weatherspoon made a free throw and that was that. Look, Bulldog fans: it's a shoe you throw. A shoe, got it? Not a stuffed animal. Bush league!
Loyola 70, Evansville 58. Hot MCC MVC action! Loyola moves back into a tie with Drake for first place. Ohio State 63, Northwestern 49. Providence 78, St. John's 59. Creighton 79, DePaul 67. DePaul (13-12) is trying to squeeze out its first winning season since 2007, but lost at home to a so-so Creighton squad ((14-13). NC State 89, Boston College 80 (OT). Arizona State 80, Stanford 62. Utah State 71, New Mexico 55. The Mountain West is counting on Utah State (21-6) to get it a second NCAA bid this year, but there's not many impressive wins on the resume.
Florida Gulf Coast 67, Lipscomb 61. Take Lipscomb back off the bubble. Some were arguing that they had played their way on.

Go Heels!! Great win last night at Cameron, sure slightly diminished by Zion getting hurt but Heels didn't control that and beat a Duke team that still has a few other McDonalds All Americans and future lottery picks.
In the category of "This guy is actually kind of a jerk, not a self proclaimed 'leader of men' " I submit to you the handshake line and Coach K blowing off Roy, even with Roy leaning in to say "I hope its not serious" in regards to the Zion injury. UNC was a finalist to get Zion and at differnet points were thought to be the leader in his recruitment so Roy knows Zion and family well. This behavior by K is fairly gross but what can you do.
K sore loser video in handshake line -->

Thursday, February 21
Horizon Northern Kentucky 76, Youngstown State 69. I watched this game, the first time I've watched YSU since the last Titan game, and, despite tonight's loss, they are a lot better team than they were earlier in the year. But freshman wiz Darius Quisenberry was hurt at the beginning of the game, and playing on the road, the Penguins didn't have enough to top the league's best team. Naz Bohannon led YSU (12-17, 8-8) with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Drew McDonald had 27 point and 13 rebounds for NKU (21-7, 11-4), including a perfect 12-12 from the line, including 4 in the final 30 seconds to help put the win on ice. The Titans can pull ahead of YSU in the conference standings by beating Oakland on Saturday.
Wright State 89, Cleveland State 59. This was close for a half, but Wright State (17-11, 11-4) pulled steadily away after the break to keep pace with Northern Kentucky. The Raiders shot 52% from both the floor and behind the arc. This finally, mercifully, mathematically eliminated Cleveland State (8-21, 3-13) from the Horizon tournament.
Titan Non-Conference Opponents
Loyola (Md) 79, Navy 70. All 5 Loyola starters scored in double figures. The Greyhounds are 10-18; Navy is 9-17.
Other Games #7 Michigan 69, Minnesota 60. Michigan (24-3) held the Gophers (17-10) to just 18 first half points, and led by as much as 21 before a late Minnesota rally made the score look more respectable than it was.
#2 Gonzaga 92, Pepperdine 64.
Cincinnati 60, Central Florida 55. UCF (19-6) is on the bubble. San Francisco 77, BYU 71.
South Dakota State 92, Fort Wayne 83. South Dakota State (22-7) knocks Fort Wayne (17-12) out of the Summit race. Those who follow the scoreboard closely know that Fort Wayne has had one of my favorite collegiate players, Jon Konchar, now wrapping up his senior year. In defeat tonight, Konchar had 27 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. That's kind of a typical night for the 6-5 Konchar, who averages 19.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.9 steals and 0.9 blocks. He's closing in on 2000 career points--barring an injury, he'll get there next weekend. His career field goal percentage is 56.0% (55.8% this year), he has 180 career three pointers, shot at a 41.9% clip (38.9% this year). He'll almost certainly be a first team all-Summit League player for the 4th year in a row. He is Fort Wayne's all-time leading scorer and rebounder, 2nd in assists and steals. The only schools to offer him scholarships out of West Chicago High School were Fort Wayne and Chicago State.
Radford 87, Winthrop 81. With 4 games to play, Radford (19-8) moves 2.5 games up on second place Winthrop (17-10) in the Big South. UMBC 65, Vermont 56. UMBC (18-10) closes to within a game of Vermont (21-6) for first place in the America East Conference. St. Francis (Pa) 81, St. Francis (NY) 71. 1st place St. Francis (15-11) beats second place St. Francis (16-12) in the Northeast Conference.

K sore loser video in handshake line --> I am always happy to see Duke lose, especially to North Carolina. I have been a Tar Heels fan since Phil Ford. Coach K often shows his petulant side. It usually gets overlooked by the media.
