Koron Davis is inthe transfer portal from Louisville. This one's kind of complicated. The 6-7 Koron joined the Cardinals in the class of 2023 as a JUCO transfer, as a 23ppg scorer at Southwest Los Angeles Junior College. On the surface, his signing just looked like Louisville filling out the roster, as he wasn't considered a high major recruit. He apparently got into some trouble at Louisville (reports say a heated argument with the head coach), and wasn't playing. This week, Louisville put out a statement that he had entered the transfer portal, wishing him luck. Davis shortly after put out a statement saying he didn't put his name in the transfer portal and had expressed on interest in leaving. Louisville put out another statement after that, saying that he had been dismissed from the team. My thought is that he got in trouble, they were kicking him off the team, but tried to do him a favor implying it was his decision to enter the portal. Concerns aside, Koron is a player with good size and some proven offensive ability. He's a kid from Gary, Indiana, and might be interested in returning to the Midwest. Also, I do believe we have room for him on the roster. Given the success that Coach Davis has had with second chance players during his coaching career, it could be worth a conversation with the young man. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/39108042/koron-davis-dismissed-louisville-denies-sought-transfer

Does Tchikou travel or work out with team? I attended a practice in September and Tchikou was practicing with the team.

The Idle Speculation about transfers doesn't hit the same this March, with the head position unfilled and the Titans facing their usual recruting hurdles. But a couple of names caught my eye. Malik Olafioye, Kansas City, freshman: Malik is an Ecorse native, and was a very highly ranked recruit, reporting early offers form Arizona State, Houston, and Boston College, among others. He took an unofficial visit to Florida State. His development leveled off from those early days, and he committed last Spring to Kansas City. He only appeared in 9 games, and didn't see action after late December. However, he remains an intriguing prospect and certainly worth a look. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/5177742/malik-olafioyeBraelon Green, Arizona State, freshman: Green is a Southfield native who spent a little time at my old high school, Ypsilanti Lincoln, before making the move to a couple of out of state prep schools. As he did, his stock fell, going from a four star recruit to three star recruit by the time his high school career ended. He saw action in 25 games for the Sun Devils last year, but totaled only 125 minutes and was scoreless in his last 14 appearances. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/5175028/braelon-green

Green had a Michigan State offer while Monty was on staff in East Lansing. Early on in his career Malik was considered a potential high major recruit and likely garnered some MSU attention. PTCTitan mentioned in another thread that Chuck Bailey III was in the portal after averaging 9 points per game at Evansville. He's probably a guy that Monty is familiar with, too.

Abdullah Olajuwon spent a year at Kansas City before enrolling at Detroit Mercy.

Chuck Bailey committed to Nevada. That's actually a better destination for him than I expected.
