Hofman currently playing for Belgium in the FIBA 20U European Championships in Portugal. After finishing 2nd in their group, they are playing the Czech Republic today in the semis at 1:30pm (I think I'm converting the time correct). If it's being shown live, it would be at the link below (Hofman is #10) but then again it may not be shown live: www.fiba.basketball/europe/u20b/2019/game/2007/Czech-Republic-BelgiumHofman, listed at 6'4' on the roster, is averaging 5.2ppg, 2.4 rpg and 1 apg in 19.7 min per game. He's shot only 34.5% from the field (and 35.7% from 3) www.fiba.basketball/europe/u20b/2019/player/Sam-Hofman

Hofman didn't play in the 1st quarter. Belgium down 22 to 12 I watched to halftime. My unofficial stats: Hofman played the last 7:44 of the 2nd quarter. Belgium was down at the half 41 to 24. Hofman played strictly around the perimeter/3 point line offensively. Was 0 for 2 from 3, but one was a heave as the shot clock expired. Two defensive rebounds, although one hit the floor. He was the Belgian inbounds man. Looked ok, but the level of play wasn't spectacular. He should get playing time for us as a freshman (but who knows with Davis - I struggled to understand his playing time distribution all season), but doesn't look like a game changer. The review was not meant to be critical or through rose colored glasses, just what I saw as a 20+ year former coach

Belgium loses 82 to 64. Hofman played 19:33 minutes, was 0-3 from the field (all from 3) with 4 rebounds and 1 assist. The team was +2 with him on the court, which is a good thing

Willy averaged 4.8ppg, 4.2 rpg, and 1.4 apg in 15.8 mins per game. He shot 26.7% from the field and 25% from 3. He was listed at 6'8"

I remember an early season interview with Davis when he revealed that he was surprised when Willy showed up on campus and he was a few inches shorter than advertised. That, combined with the fact that Hofman has been listed at different heights, was the reason for me making note of it. In addition, Willy's FIBA stats were from 2 years ago, so he had an additional season of development before arriving on campus.

If I recall correctly, Willy is 20 or 21 years old, so he should be more mature than most sophomores.

Saw some discussion that implied Hofman’s eligibility status was still awaiting NCAA adjudication. Apparently that hurdle has been overcome as the freshman made the trip down to Clemson and scored his first points as a Titan this afternoon.
