Food for thought if the non conference schedules are scrapped A good idea - especially if the NCAA paid some shares directly to the extra schools who participated and guaranteed more slots for mid-majors. It does look like most sports that can be pushed into the Spring will be pushed.

I am just going with the expectation that we won't have college sports in 2020-21. If we do have sports, I will be pleasantly surprised.

America East makes key decision for fall sports to flip to spring, looking to keep winter sports start on time.

Doggone it, I know there is a chance we won't have a season, but I am starting to get that serious college basketball itch I usually get around this time. It's almost time to start checking the stores for Athlon, Street & Smith, etc. My favorite teams have interesting storylines. The recent Titan recruiting news has me feeling more optimism than I had previously. High Point just signed a 6-9 grad transfer who was a D2 All American, and they bring back several guys who started as freshmen to go with a very good 2020 class. EMU returns an experienced team and has three potential impact transfers. Michigan State starts the post-Cassius era, but brings back a lot of talent, and welcomes transfer Joey Hauser and two four star recruits in the class of 2020. Michigan brings back talent and a strong class. Texas and Florida State look strong. Even DePaul expects (again) to improve.
PLEASE let their be a season.

I just pre-ordered the BlueRibbon Yearbook, the Bible of college basketball previews. I'm looking forward to the Titans season - I'm not saying we'll win it, but with the added, experienced talent along with a few key holdovers, I realistically feel we'll be in top 3rd of the League (which is a heck of a lot better than what we've seen the past few seasons). However, I'm also thinking we don't see any basketball until January (& fingers crossed that we have actual games at that point)

Just my take, but I feel that most people working in higher education already know there won’t be sports until fall semester ends, and likely no sports the entire academic year. It’s a problem of no school (at least relevant school) or conference wanting to jump first and thus give the public the bad news.

Today the Ohio Athletic Conference, a D-III conference, cancelled all sports events through December 31. They follow the North Coast Athletic Conference, the other D-III conference of Ohio schools, which announced its decision earlier in the week.
I think people need to recognize that life goes on, but I don't think our colleges and universities will. From what I can tell, the students want to attend class, play sports, etc. They are not oblivious to the risk, but they know that few people in their age group are affected and they're willing to keep on with life. It's the administrators, with relatively secure paychecks, fat TIAA-Cref retirement accounts, and careers and lives already established, who want to play it super safe.

What we're seeing with MLB right now does not bode well for upcoming college athletics.

What we're seeing with MLB right now does not bode well for upcoming college athletics. Unless you’re one of the people that can’t accept reality:
