Hope springs eternal. To underscore the obvious, if Alex Tchikou is granted a wavier it's a significant boost to our roster!

Sign of hope for Alex: Woody Newton, a two time transfer who previously played at Syracuse and Oklahoma State, received a waiver to play at George Mason this season. Not sure what his specific circumstances are, but seeing a waiver granted at this time for a mid major for a mid major means the NCAA hasn't officially closed the book on them. Woody Newton playing historyAlex Tchikou playing history. Both are two-time undergraduate transfers. Yeah, that was the first thing I checked. I saw a comment online that Newton's father actually passed away last season, and that might be part of the justification for the waiver. I don't know how true that is; it was just a comment on social media.

Alex only played 5 mins in 3 games at Alabama. Not sure if that’s a factor one way or the other.

Alex only played 5 mins in 3 games at Alabama. Not sure if that’s a factor one way or the other. It does not count as a season played because due to his Achilles injury, he did not play in 30% or more of Alabama's games that season. However, it has little to do with his ability to get the waiver for immediate eligibility this year.

Can someone please find out who and who is not eligible? It's 39 days until Wayne State and yet we are still unaware about fuller Alex and many others. Who has the insight? Somebody must know. THESE ARE PLAYERS WE NEED

Fuller and Tchikou require waivers. “Many others” do not and are eligible to play.

Fuller and Tchikou require waivers. “Many others” do not and are eligible to play. I think he means “Manny Athers,”—gotta hate autocorrect—the 6-10 transfer from UA. I was really excited last week when he announced his move on Twitter—he should help us enormously.

I understand the University witholding announcment about waivers and eligibility until appeals are exhausted, so if that's the case with Fuller and Alex, I'm fine with that. However, if things are settled and they haven't announced it, that's not good. The program should share the latest information with the fanbase. There should have been an annoucement about Coleman and Tovar. The program officially announced the two of them this summer, but both have now been officially announced as members of a D2 program and an NAIA program, respectively. A simple release stating that those two were no longer part of the Titan program would be sufficient.
So that makes me wonder, does the University already know about Fuller and Alex, but the program has decided not to share that information? That would seem to be a mistake, but that's par for the course with our athletic department.

I don't know if Alex is going to get a waiver, but he certainly seems to be making himself part of the community.

Commissioner, who is Manny Athers? Just a bad joke I made up, something of a commentary on our roster. Manny Athers = (autocorrected) Many Others

CHARLESTON, West Virginia -- College athletes who were denied the chance to play immediately after transferring a second time can return to competition, for now, after a federal judge issued a 14-day temporary restraining order Wednesday against the NCAA.
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey in northern West Virginia issued the order against the NCAA from enforcing the transfer rule. A lawsuit filed by West Virginia and six other states alleged the rule's waiver process violated federal antitrust law.
A hearing on the restraining order is scheduled for Dec. 27, Bailey said.
The NCAA didn't immediately indicate whether it would appeal the ruling.
