It will be interesting to see if any of the current scholarship players with reaming eligibility return for the 2024-25 season. Here are my thoughts on the order of past performance and/or future potential.
1. Stone 2. Tankersley 3. Tchikou 4. Hurst 5. Kuac 6. Manciel 7. Oaks

Depends on who is coach. If a new one is hired, as must happen, and if he can get the holdovers to buy into his vision, we have the nucleus of a competitive team.

I’m in the building a lot and there just isn’t the vibe around the program that seems like a firing is coming. (don’t have any direct sources on this or anything). Now I do think he could just say hey I’m done.

Now I do think he could just say hey I’m done. The reality is that he does do a lot of away games during nonconference. He also schedule teams that will get us paid. This is a plus for the program when comes to making money. If we schedule opponents that we can beat we won't get paid and make money for this program to stand on it two feet. At this point to me it appears we are dealing with a product that was neglected for two many years before. We need the cash because we don't have the deep pockets of alumni to help bridge the gap. Are facilities need improvement to help land better players. Second off it would be better to get a new AD first than a coach.

Call me crazy but I think the key to making money for the program is winning some games and getting people to watch the team in person. If you maintain a coach who goes 0-31 or 1-30 in his sixth year, with players coming and going at will and no clear plan for the program's future, how can you seriously ask what few fans who remain to continue to support the program?
How about a new, young, enthusiastic head coach who won't scheduling a bunch of unwinnable guarantee games that have us playing two home games in entire months of November and December while we go 1-8 or 2-7 or 0-9. I don't care if we play an entire OOC of Quad 4 opponents. WE NEED TO WIN SOME GAMES.

I can't think of too many D 1 teams that will retain a coach with a 0-31 season. Why pay this guy 5 or 6 hundred thousand dollars to go 1-31 when you can get some middle school coach at 5 cents on the dollar

And a replacement, in reality, on the cheap end would cost $250,000. I don’t think the trustees will be cool with paying two HC salaries next season. They shouldn’t be.

My guess, some sort of negotiation has already transpired. The day after the season ends, there will be an announcement that Mike Davis has retired from coaching college basketball. There will a relatively quick process (perhaps already currently underway) to replace him. We'll see

Quite possibly that’s the case. If so, I imagine we are still paying Davis a good chunk of what would have been his salary next year. Could spread it out over a few years, as that would help the school with budgeting and reduce Davis’ tax liability.

Maybe we get extra lucky and Jason Horn is currently brokering the deal. 😁

I think Stone has proven all he can at the collegiate level. I think he's gone after this year to pursue a career playing basketball internationally somewhere.
Does anyone know what happened to Pink? I don't think I've seen him on the bench in recent games.
