Someone previously mentioned somewhere that the current assistants are on the payroll thru April 30. So is it possible that the new assistants cannot be introduced until May 1 but are currently working for the D🏀.

Probably could have 15 if you wanted to pay them. |

There is an official limit of four assistant coaches for basketball but then there’s director of basketball operations and lots of other BS titles that the big schools have.

If you read the NCAA rules it’s 6 with 4 allowed on the bench during the game and the # allowed to recruit off of campus is limited but I’m not sure the # on the staff is controlled. |

Young guy, probably hungry and hardworking, smart guy (master's degree), knows Coach Monty well, probably sees this as a great opportunity and will work his butt off. Lots to like about him as a possibility for the staff. |

Good to see it rounded out. For those in the know, any word on hirings in the rest of Athletics (box office, game day experience, operations, etc)? As was suggested with the Monty hire, surely he knows some of those challenges and made some slight suggestions on what he also needs for the program to be successful as it relates to getting Calihan full(er) next year and moving forward. (Hint, as always the answer includes the fly dogs coming back, we won't be great til those lil good boys are scurrying back and forth touchline to touchline  ) |
