I doubt it will matter much. I don't see how Leitao keep his job after this season.

Just heard a crazy rumor Sam, John Beilein possibly to DePaul I'd be all for it. Leiato seems like a nice guy, and he did a good job restocking the talent level, but I don't think he's a good enough coach to get the success DePaul needs in the Big East. Beilein, of course, is an excellent coach and would be the best coach DePaul has had since Ray Meyer. It would rekindle excitement in the program. Really crazy to see JB flaming out in Cleveland so quickly.

One of his top assistants is an assistant there under Shaka Smart. That would make the transition smoother if the Longhorns make a move.

Maybe DePaul can snag Pitino before UMass does?

I dont see Beilein being able to recruit the Chicagoland area at all. He definitely wouldn't be able to recruit Chicago, nor would he want to. As Tom Izzo said, there are a lot of "middlemen" you have to deal with when recruiting Chicago kids. If he could get the caliber of player he got to come to Michigan, though, he could do well at DePaul.

An ESPN+ article that just came out lists Texas, Boston College and DePaul, in that order, as possible landing spots for JB

I just read a crazy theory on twitter about how JB is coming here (to U of D) as head coach as a way to get his son Patrick (who resigned at Niagara before even coaching a game) back on a mid major staff. Smart is going to be out at Texas, Davis (who earlier tried to get the LSU job) goes back to the State of Texas, and JB then comes here with his son. Mole - even you didn't come up with something that far fetched.. Although I'd be overjoyed if that happened

But, I heard George Noory say pretty much the same thing on his radio show last night.

Incredibly, there are reports that DePaul's athletic director is negotiating a contract extension with Coach Leiato.
The fanbase is not happy.
