It's a good schedule. Including the Wayne State exhibition, we have 4 of the first 5 at home--I would hope we win at least 3 (Wayne State, Cleary, and Niagara). Assuming 1 or 2 HL home games in December, we'll still see the team again before Christmas. The Jacksonville tournament seems like good competition for us, not hopeless road games at Duke or Kentucky or Kansas, etc., and it should be a nice place for the players to visit--they ought to be able to squeeze in a day at the beach. Four "buy" games and the MTE will bring in some meaningful cash. It's a competitive schedule and we'll lose a lot, but given where we are it doesn't seem like we're horribly overmatched. I think 4-7 looks like a likely non-conference record, which doesn't look good, until you realize that would equal our most non-conference wins since 2016. Lot of young players--if we can gel by the new year, that will be great. Anything more in November and December is gravy.

Agree, 4-7 looks like a likely non-conference record.
And I believe the comment, 'Lots of young players--if we can gel by the new year, that will be great. Anything more in November and December is gravy' .... really hits the mark.

The Jacksonville Classic has added two more teams, Georgia State and Tulsa. That's a total of six. In past years they've invited 8 teams and split them into two brackets of 4. This indicates they will do that again. Others already identified as in the tournament, besides our Titans, are Austin Peay, UT-Arlington, and Rhode Island.
There are only 16 uncommitted D1 teams, and supposedly 10 of those have indicated they will not be in an MTE this year. The other 6 are Cornell, Dartmouth, Delaware State, Lehigh, St. Peter's, and The Citadel. Delaware State has a scheduled game conflicting with the tournament. Lehigh has a road game on November 30 so they're not a likely entrant. I'm guessing The Citadel and St. Peter's are the most likely additions, with the Titans, Austin Peay, and those two schools in a bracket.
Of course, a lot of this is based on "sources" that may prove to be wrong.

They are doing good things with their program and maybe some of that good Karma will rub off. Nothing against the Citadel, but I'd prefer the match up with another urban Jesuit institution, if we can get it.

Re: Jacksonville Classic.
Georgia State is confirmed on their schedule.
Tulsa has not yet posted its schedule.
St. Peter's has not yet posted its schedule.
The Citadel is out. They are playing a game on Nov 27th.
Lehigh is out. They play St Francis (PA) on Nov 26.
Dartmouth has posted their schedule and plays at BC on Nov 29th.
Cornell has posted its schedule and is out. They play Syracuse on Nov 27th.
Delaware State has posted its schedule and the conflict still is there.
Of Commissioner's 6 guesses, only St. Peter's remains a possibility.

Confirmed are UT-Arlington, Rhode Island, Georgia State, Austin Peay & Detroit. Tulsa hasn't published a schedule but has those dates still clear. It seems to me that without Tulsa getting to 8 D1 teams will be very tough. My recollection is that the NCAA no longer allows non-D1 teams to round out these events unless that non-D1 team is the host. The Citadel is not in an MTE. They've released their non-conference schedule showing a game with St. Andrews on the 26th, not the 27th. Given their proximity and a non-D1 opponent, they could still play, or they could probably move St. Andrews. So perhaps not etched in stone. Other schools not in an MTE that have published their schedules, but but conceivably could add an MTE and have availability on the right dates: Oral Roberts -- has a game w/ Haskell College on the 26th but could probably move that. Columbia has room and availability on the right dates. Central Connecticut state has no MTE and availability on the dates. Florida A&M-likewise. Marist--likewise, but you can't have both St. Peter's and Marist as they are in the same conference. That's about all that's left.

Tulsa has confirmed on its schedule that it's in the Jacksonville Classic.
St. Peter's has posted its schedule, but its non-conference schedule is incomplete with a huge hole there for the same dates as the Jacksonville Classic. I only counted 7 or 8 nonconference games on its schedule.

I only counted 7 or 8 nonconference games on its schedule. One other possibility might be Flagler College playing. I believe it would qualify as the host school, so the prohibition on non-D1 teams could be waived. Flagler is a solid D-2 program that was 20-11 last year and reached the D-2 Final Four in 2022. They have a non-conference game scheduled for Nov. 26, just up the road in Jacksonville, that presumably could be moved to another date.

FWIW, I had mentioned somewhere earlier that I asked AD Vowels at a soccer game about the field for this MBB tournament. He said we would likely be matched with Flagler in one of the games.
