Jacob Polakovich is a 6-8 center from Grand Rapids Catholic Central. He committed to Indianapolis in April. If Stan Gouard were to become the Titans coach, I could see Polakovich following him over. Polakovich did not, to my knowledge, have any DI offers, but he's a big body who was offered by a host of D-II programs, including Ferris State.
Per Verbal commits, Gouard also offered Novi's Trendon Hankerson, a big guard who has recently picked up a D-I offer from Northern Illinois. But Hankerson took a visit to Indianapolis just last week, so he must have some interest there and thus a reasonably positive view of Gouard. Might be another possibility.
Neither is a strong prospect but at this point in the cycle, you've gotta take your shots. Both have some potential. The new coach may have as many as 9 or 10 scholarships to give.

I actually looked over Indy's roster/stats yesterday to see who might be D1 quality. Last seasons leading scorer/rebounder will be a Junior (Tate Hall 6'6" guard) Bottom line, everything about this team is in awful shape. I'm feeling really depressed about it and am ready to throw in the towel. I need some good news today...

Hankerson visited Northern Illinois (his only D-I offer) and Indianapolis last week.

Bottom Line: Gouard does have ties to the State of Michigan.

Which suggest he would have been a nice addition for us.

From that article: So you're telling me that one of our assistant coaches was encouraging other coaches to recruit our top unsigned target for the 2018 class? Where does Canaan return the salary we paid him?

Not a huge surprise - per Tony Paul, PG B.J. Simmons is moving on from his commitment

Of course, guys don't have to sign LOIs and unsigned players can be recruited late, but most want to guarantee their scholarship, and the coaches want to know their roster. So guys like Simmons have to move on. Even if he wanted to stay post-BA, there was no coach to offer him an LOI.

Where does Canaan return the salary we paid him? You know, if Canaan had contributed any visible positives to the program while he has been here, that whole "you can still recruit my son" thing probably wouldn't bother me. But if you aren't bringing anything else to the table and you apparently got a job because both of your sons can play, you should make sure they go to the school that employs you. If not, I'm with the Commish and wondering about a refund.

Does anyone represent MBB staff at present. It has been mentioned that JJ is not on campus. How about Coach Chatman? Is he still around or has he left with his son? What about the 3rd assistant coach? This must end soon

This must end soon I noticed about a week ago that if you go to the school website and look up school employees, both BA and JJ were no longer listed in the directory. Canaan Chatman was listed.
