Carlos "Scooby" Johnson committed to Butler. Short drive for his family to see his home games. I'm sorry to hear that. I think he is the best player in our state. I was hoping he would come to UD, he might be another program changer. I am kind of surprised as Bradley seems to have a pull on top Benton Harbor talent. Detroit is closer to Benton Harbor than Indianapolis but a tougher winter trip.

I've seen Jackson play a few times, I don't think he has ACC or SEC talent.

I've seen Jackson play a few times, I don't think he has ACC or SEC talent. I haven't watched Jackson play, but your statement reminds me of what I told someone (maybe the Commissioner) after seeing Ypsi High's Jaylen Johnson his senior year in high school. Johnson had committed to Louisville and was ranked a five star recruit, but he seemed more like a mid major player to me. Corey Allen, then a sophomore at Ypsi, was the best player on the floor that night. Johnson went on to average 5 points per game during his three year career at Louisville. He declared for the draft after his junior year and went undrafted. He spent some time in the G League and signed with an Israeli team in September. I'm going to try to see Jackson at some point this season. It was worth noting that Michigan State took an early commitment from another power forward in this class while Jackson was still available.

The Rocky Mountain Jamboree, a JUCO basketball event, takes place this weekend in Colorado. Wouldn't surprise me if we have a presence there and see some offers being made for the classes of 2020 and 2021.

HS coach at Merrillville was TJ Lux, since resigned after 2019 season. You may remember him. Lux played at Northern Illinois 1996-2000. School was in MCC first two years, then moved to MAC. TJ was a 6-9 center who scored 1996 career points with a 19.9 ppg his senior year.

Thielmans is at South Plains CC. Before landing at this JUCO, he announced first that he was transferring to Wright State. Then, he announced that he had verbally committed to Milwaukee. On Sept 25, he announced that he received an offer from Evansville.
