Not sure what to make of this player. Half a season at UMass-Lowell. Half a season at Boise State. Barely played at both places.

Not sure what to make of this one. He wasn't a starter in JC but put up good numbers and seemed to be really streaky. Saw some 6 pt. 5 rb. type games and a 20 rb.-21 pt. game coming off of the bench. If we went by what has committed around the league at this point and what we have for sure we look to be out of the running this year. The league seems to be recruiting well we will have to see how the coaches put it all together.

And the implicit suggestion that Green Bay looks better than us (maybe that was not intended) strikes me as totally off the wall.

Not necessarily GB but just thinking about GM, CS, Mil., Oak. and NK who all seem to have gotten better while we seem to be attempting to tread water.

The league looks to be stronger for the first time in several years.

I would be happy if we had signed him, or we sign a similar player.

This is a very nice commitment for GB. Short averaged 22 points and 9 rebounds as a junior, was a 1st team all state in Wisconsin's D-3 (relatively small schools) and honorable mention all-state overall. He had offers from Southern Cal and Virginia Tech, and is ranked #276 nationally by 247 sports. Milwaukee recently got a verbal from 2022 Brian Taylor, a point guard from Missouri who reportedly had offers from St. Louis and Wichita State, among many others. Purdue Ft. Wayne got a verbal from Chris Morgan, a guard with an offer this spring from TCU and an early offer from West Virginia. It seems like HL teams are recruiting better than in the past.

Too bad he didn’t leave or get discarded before our game in GB, he was the difference. Must have been a problem because I watched quite a few of their games and couldn’t figure out why he wasn’t starting and getting more minutes. It’s always easier to boot a kid and beat them down rather than earn their respect and make them better.

In the transfer portal: Emmanuel Ansong, 6-4 small forward. GB's best player this year. Averaged 11 ppg, 5 rpg. 1 year left. Ansong came to Green Bay from Wheeling with coach Ryan. "Thanks for believing in me, Coach. Bye."
Small forward Japannah Kellogg, started 21 games, averaged 6.7 ppg, 4 rpg. 3 years left. Ryan Claflin, 6-6 small forward, originally a walk-on, worked his way to 12 starts last year as a freshman. This year started 4 games, averaged 15 minutes per game, 3.0 ppg. Tutu Majok, 6-9 forward, played in just 6 games, missed much of season due to Covid protocols. Blayton Williams, a juco transfer, red-shirted last year, played in just 7 games this year, a total of 25 minutes.
Also Donovan Ivory, who left the team in late January, had averaged 11.9 ppg, 4.2 rpg, and Donavan Moore, a West Bloomfield grad and transfer from Toledo who played in just 7 games last year and none this year before entering the portal back in December.
Not yet in the portal but reported to be leaving by Green Bay press is backup forward Cem Kirciman, 2.9 points, 1.7 rebounds in 26 games.
