Some of the people on the Canisius board are very high on this guy. They clearly want Witherspoon gone on the next bus and they love this guy, he has WNY ties but might be too expensive for CC. Detroit could probably afford him. Others are far more invested and knowledgeable than me and I gladly defer to their expertise, but it's pretty obvious Davis isn't getting it done, and hasn't since he's been at UMD. rolltide.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/bryan-hodgson/1380

I strongly believe that a good young coach who will put forth an honest recruiting effort and implements a strong defensive system could easily leverage the transfer portal and WIN here, without having to bring in too many 4-year recruits. I agree with others that Coach Davis had made a valiant effort here but has failed to win. We need a change. I support a change.

I would not expect the University to release Coach Davis so soon after Antoine’s final game. Unless Coach decides to retire, I see him here another year or two.

Not everyone can coach their child. They think they can but most can’t. The coach and the child are hindered! Davis just received or best commitment since Corey Allen and I am sure more are to follow! If he can maintain the core of our returning guys and add some More strong talent I think our program is headed in the right direction. The only thing stopping us now is we do not have an inside game except for Liddell and without help inside he is foul prone. He might be foul prone anyway he really does commit some pretty unnecessary fouls.

Ray McCallum Jr. Is considering wrapping up his professional career and is currently seeking a coaching opportunity at the collegiate level.

Ray McCallum Jr. Is considering wrapping up his professional career and is currently seeking a coaching opportunity at the collegiate level. What are you suggesting? Just wondering. He certainly wouldn't be a candidate for head coach anywhere in D1, so maybe a 4th assistant at the end of a bench somewhere? Sports Information Director? Something.

My guess is that he becomes an assistant next season but definitely not here. I would love to see him get a HC opportunity here someday.

JR. was an outstanding player here and a quality young man. As stated he will have to start at the end of the bench. His dad seems to have many contacts in the business, I'm sure he could find a better opportunity than UDM.

He showed himself to be a smart, classy guy while here.

I still like Ray Jr. Wouldn’t mind him coming back to 6 Mile, but I don’t think he’s a good fit with our current coaching staff. And, yes, with his dad’s connections, he’d probably have more attractive offers than us at the assistant coaching level.
