The good thing about this chart is that you can look at it and feel pretty good about the potential Titans future. Expectations are that 2013-14 could be a down year due to unexpected player losses and inexperience, but the projected roster for 2014-15 looks very promising. I can see a starting lineup of Patrick Ackerman, Patrick O, JH2, Anton Wilson, and CB, and feel pretty good about that. Perhaps Paris Bass plays well enough to become a starter by that time, which means the bench is that much stronger. Add in Jerrod Williams, Matt Grant, Aaron Foster Smith, and the rest of the 2014 recruiting class (possibly including a good mix of freshmen and a game ready JUCO player or two) and that looks like a very talented and potentially deep team.
Even losing Patrick O and JH2 after that season would not seem to be cause for panic for 15-16, considering that Bass and Foster-Smith should be hitting their primes and Ackerman, Carlton and Wilson will be a seniors.
Of course, non of that accounts for injuries, transfers, less than expected performance, etc., but overall I am encouraged by what I see.

The roster in 2014-15 and 2015-16 rosters are looking very good. The future looks pretty bright. :-)

That table has really shaped up in the past few months. Looks now and we've still got another two slots to fill for the 2014 class.
2013 and 2014 have brought in some good talent. Hopefully, we can keep replenishing the roster that way going forward, using Coach Ray's "every way" approach to recruiting: High schoolers, JUCO's, and transfers.

I've updated the roster table to include both Lacey James and Youssoupha Kane, plus Shy McClellan for Aaron Simpson a while ago.

Why does Kearney only have one year of eligibility with Detroit? My research confirms that he graduated HS in June 2011. He spent 1 and 1/2 yrs at Michigan State....then transferred to Arizona State where he sat out one year...then played 1/2 yr with Sun Devils. That amounts to the use of 2yrs eligibility in a 3 yr period. My understanding is that an athlete has 4yrs eligibility to complete in a 5 yr timeframe. Seems like he is losing a year of eligibi;lity.

I'm not sure, LT. Perhaps he didn't enroll at ASU in time to save that half year. Now that I think about it, I don't think he made the decision on going to ASU until mid-January of 2013. Perhaps someone else on the board can clarify the reasons. The official announcement that he was eligible immediately stated that he only had one year but did not go into detail about it.

1.5 years at MSU 1 year sit out (spring 2013/fall 2013) .5 year at ASU 1 year at UD
Interesting observation. Could it be that he would normally have to sit out another year before playing at UD, which would make 5 years total - but for some reason we got them to wave the sit year while counting it against his 5 year limit? That is, they didn't make him sit, but still counted it? That seems odd, but maybe that would be it.

I don't believe the NCAA prorates years of eligibility used. If you use eligibity just in the fall semester only, it will count as a full year.

Commish, I was searching for something on the original board and came across this post you made on June 12, 2012. Pretty good guess actually. You got three right, with Howard, CB, and Wilson all having started this year. DeBerry should be here (I'll bet even he might tell you that off the record) and PJ would likely be a starter had he not left.
"2014-15 starting five:
C- DeBerry F- Howard G- Wilson G- Brundidge PG- Boutte"

Another eligibility inquiry from Larry Titan. I see a lot of talk about the possibility of CB obtaining another year of availability. How can that be? One year at U-M where he was on active roster for entire year and played throughout the season. Then a transfer redshirt with U-D....then 3 yrs of play. Total = 4 yrs play in 5 yr period. I don't see how any eligibility remains.

The NCAA has granted a sixth year of eligibility before, under various circumstances. Usually there is some injury consideration. I am not sure of the circumstances, but former Titans commit Shaq McKissic got a sixth year of eligibility.
I think there is some thought to trying an injury rationale with CB, but I don't know the details. In fact, the only place I have heard it mentioned at all with CB is on the message board. I have no idea how far that idea has actually gone.
