Kam Chatman not invited to NBA combine. Surprise. Surprise. Surprise. He should be back. He's smart enough to know the best thing for his pro career stock is to average 20ppg at UDM, rather than grad transfer to a p5 school and average 8-10ppg. Per ESPN'S Jeff Goodman: Detroit’s Kam Chatman will sign with an agent and remain in the NBA Draft, his father told ESPN. Began his career at Michigan.

I actually thought he was more likely to go somewhere as a grad transfer than give up his collegiate eligibility and stay in the draft. He wasn't invited to the combine and I haven't heard anything about any workouts he has had scheduled for teams. Hasn't been much buzz about him. Seems like he at least would have gotten a workout with the Pistons.
Note: Add Jeff Goodman to the list of people who call us "Detroit".

CBS Sports Jon Rothstein also uses our correct name: Kameron Chatman tells me that he is staying in the 2018 NBA Draft and will not return to Detroit next season. College career is over.

With this announcement, the upcoming season’s Titan roster is really coming into firm focus!
At least we now know Chatman’s dad won’t be forced on the next TBD head coach.

We better see if Ollie from Hoosiers is available to suit up.

Bacari Alexander made a huge blunder with that combo package. I can see hiring Mayce Webber to get Chris Webber, or Ed Manning to get Danny Manning, it made no sense to hire Canaan Chatman to get Kam Chatman. We could've went 16-47 without either of those guys.

Was there a chance Cam might have stayed for his remaining year of eligibility if it meant his dad would continue on as a Titan assistant coach? Possibly the announcement today that Chatman is leaving means a decision on the HC was recently made, and the new guy made it clear that he has plans on bringing in a whole new staff.
Or maybe Detroit Mercy won’t hire a coach until the end of June.

Or maybe he learned that he can achieve the needed improvements to his game by playing G-League or in another pro league elsewhere in the world? If he would get signed by the central FL G-League team, then he could play for Stan Heath?
