A&M leads Auburn by 16 at the half. Indiana is up on Illinois late. Teams considered in the final 8 spots in the field should be nervous if these scores hold.

Indiana wins (I thought you might have jinxed them). Nice job by Mike Woodson in year one. The Hoosiers are 20-12. Last season they were 12-15. Auburn cut a 20 point A&M lead to 4 but the the Aggies held on to win 67-62. That's the first Texas A&M win over a top five team since 1982.

Here's why I question the "Bracketology" and the general decision making of the committee: SMU is in the First Four Out and Memphis is an 8 seed in the tournament. SMU is 22-7, 13-4. Memphis is 19-9, 13-5. SMU is second in the AAC. Memphis is third. Memphis claim to fame is two wins over Houston. SMU split with Houston, but swept Memphis this season. I think Memphis had a tougher schedule, but that is a wide disparity considering SMU won twice head to head, by 8 points and 16 points.
There are some other head scratchers, but that one stands out to me.

Troy, Boston U., and Rice have accepted CBI bids. Rice is 16-16, with two non-D-1 wins.

My guess is that UDM is not interested in the CBI as it requires a somewhat large “entrance fee” the program is not in a position to shell out. Still think we are a TBC “bubble team,” might get a late invite if that tournament is experiencing an issue filling the 32-team bracket with schools having winning records.

I dunno. Honestly, I’m pretty pissed off right now that we haven’t stepped up and got this team into a post season. ND skidding down and now about to be pushed into the NIT isn’t helping my mood.
This year’s Titan team deserves a post season. I suppose there’s still a chance we hear something on Sunday regarding the Basketball Classic but I’m not expecting it because that would require Vowels not being a total moron.
As for the CBI and the “high cost” to play, I just don’t think that $50,000 is a lot of money considering what we already have invested in athletics and men’s basketball. I just looked up the most recent 990 and we paid Mike Davis a salary of $637,000 two years ago (this money does not include added benefits of over $40,000, nor does it reflect any built in raises the past two years). If we can pay our head coach $700,000 then we should be able to cough up $50,000 now and then when our team shows promise and has a lot of returning players. It seems to me that $50,000 would be worth the extra game(s) and practices.
We also pay Vowels nearly $250,000 in salary and other compensation. $50,000 isn’t much money - a smart program can make that up with an extra buy game the next season or some good fundraising.

This is a postseason team that lost its postseason by bad luck, bad decisions, and some poor play;
1) The lost COVID games (maybe 3 W's ).
2) The all-road early games (maybe 3 more W's for early home games).
3) The non-booking of a couple of D2 or D3 teams ( 2 more W's).
4) Two or three really poor performances in games that they should have won, (3 more W's).
This team should be at 22 or 23 W's and looking at the NIT.

What are the odds Vowels pulls a rabbit out of his hat over the next 30 hours and gets us in the CBI or Classic?

What are the odds Vowels pulls a rabbit out of his hat over the next 30 hours and gets us in the CBI or Classic? No chance! As usual his indecision strikes again! He can’t decide which hat! I am wondering if there is an award out there for the worst AD in college basketball?

There is no chance, I'm not sure if it was Vowels or MD that miss managed the Men's Basketball program this year, but MD did put together a team that should be in postseason play and MD's son is clearly a top-tier player that would add interest in UDM being in postseason play, so if I were to fix the blame for this season's team failure I would think it goes right to Vowels.

There were just some postings on this board saying we were playing in the classic but they were deleted. What’s going on? Nothing on Twitter about it.
