The university paid a head coach $2.5 million dollars for the last four years for the level of basketball we've seen? Good lord. There must be a better use for that kind of money. 4 years and still cant beat Oakland . Who is making these decisions ? MD might be a good guy but for the money has not done anything but showcase his kid .And now his son leaves . Hopefully the new president will make changes that will put Titan Basketball back on the map like Perry Watson did in the glory years .

We should be able to play.500 basketball without him, which shouldn't be any different than the last four years. I mean, seriously, head down playing 1 on 5 for most of the game, leading the conference in turnovers, play zero defense, not being a team player, being allowed by his Dad to just keep shooting even when we need a stop or a play that works. Playing as a team (if Dad can somehow start teaching that) doesn't seem to be any harder without him than with him. Winning the league next year would be a complete vindication of poor team play for 4 years and it all comes from Dad.

A few things - AD could make up to 1 million dollars in NIL money??? MD has 3 years left on his contract???
I realize Tony Paul is writing the article and he's not know for his accuracy, but 1 million is crazy, and what fool somehow gave MD 3 more seasons - I don't know if I can make it that long watching bad, losing basketball

The article from Tony Paul earlier this week said MD had 1 year left on his contract. This article says 3 years. FFS, get it right! I believe 3 years is correct as this is the more recent article and Paul talked to MD today.

So at some point, Davis received a contract extension? I can't believe we hired him originally to a 7 year contract. Man, where can I find a company that rewards it's employees for an awful work performance like Mercy apparently does

Wasn’t a repost, I meant a different article earlier this week that interviewed Antoine.

I should have included scout on my Twitter poll about who the most negative UDM fan is. Right now UP is beating The Mole 65% to 35%.

Well if the School's willing to give Davis 3 more years, then he's obviously not leaving, so I was wrong. I'll see you guys down the road as I serve my self imposed punishment and think long and hard about things.

I think of UP as grumpy more than negative. :-)

I haven’t voted once. Honest. And if I did, I’d vote for myself as the most negative. The Mole is winning because he’s incredibly popular with other HL fans on Twitter.

UP loves and supports the Titans. I wish we had thousands of more fans like him and Moose.

Do you really think we’re going to find another coach without a huge risk of hiring a dud? Yes, we could go hire the next Nate Oats, but we could also go out and hire another BA, and with all of the turnover going on in the university and the rumors about Vowel being gone later this year, I’m fine with a stable option in the head coaching chair. (Not to mention the fact that I still believe in Coach Davis). Say what you want, but compared to other sports at the university, Coach Davis is vastly outperforming other coaches. That’s sad, I know, but also needs to be taken into consideration.
