The article is subscriber protected (ESPN+), but the tweet tells us where he ranked #15 is Utah State's Sam Merrill. AD, at 17, is the second player ranked not from a P6 conference. Siena's Jalen Pickett, #25, is the only other mid-major player. Partial quote:

Antoine Davis is #1 on Rashad Phillips’ list of top mid-major players: Will always love Rashad, and I love the Detroit shoutout, but AD is off to a disappointing start (As is the team at large). Alot of forced shots are evident and showing up in the score sheet as he's shooting 25% from 3 so far. Also averaging over 5 turnovers a game. We are only 5 games into the season (although thats 1 / 6th of all games) so its still a shade early to draw hasty conclusions or generalizations about AD's game or this year's team - but a few caution flags have been cited although not yet full raised up the mast.

He's certainly not taking anyone by surprise this year. I remember during last year's season opener at WMU, he was hitting shots from well beyond the arc and with hands up, and everyone (except maybe AD and his Dad) was surprised at his shooting prowess. (The comments from the Bronco fans were hilarious.) Everyone has fair warning and film this year. Also, we've been playing some talented teams. It's also worth remembering that last year's roster had Josh McFolley and Derrien King right from the start, two experienced players who had some form of D1 success previously. They helped AD carry the load. No one has stepped up to replace them yet. I'm also missing Lamar Hamrick and Harrison Curry right now. It's still early, but getting later. I'm expecting the team to be playing better by the time conference season rolls around. It will help to be on a regular schedule of two games per week with practice time in between.

I just thought it was neat (the old style basketball card look), so I figured I would share. Note the name of the team he plays for along the side of the card!

The card is a good example of the rebrand fail. Calls us Detroit Titans but still incorporates the new logo.

Earlier this year, Antoine Davis passed the following on the Titan all-time scoring list:
43. Jerry Swartzfager, 1967-69 (76 games) 42. Ralph Goldstein, 1954-56 (79 games) 41. Anton Wilson, 2013-2016 (126 games) 40. Eli Holman, 2010-12 (89 games)
Today he passed:
39. Larry Salci, 1966-68 (74 games)
and tied 37. Ray Albee, 1958-60 (77 games).
Antoine has 1062 career points in 41 games. Next up: 36. Carl Pickett, 1994-97 (1075 points in 109 games) 35. Jaleel Hogan, 2015-18 (1082 points in 111 games) 34. Al Cech, 1062-64 (1089 points in 78 games).
Davis is also 9th on the Titan all-time list for three pointers made. He needs two to catch Jason Calliste and Greg Grays. Then it'll be a while before he catches Jon Goode, whom he currently trails by 35. Today he also inched ahead of Rashad Phillips into second on the Titans' all-time list for free-throw percentage: 87.6% to 87.5%. Archie Tullos is first at 88.2%. Obviously, Antoine could slide back with a few misses.
It's pretty remarkable that even though there is near universal agreement that Antoine is not having a good season, he's still third in the nation in scoring, behind Marquette's Markus Howard and Texas San Antonio's Jhivan Jackson (who had 41 today to stay ahead of Antoine).

Antoine now has 1117 points in 43 games, 30th all-time on the Titan list. In the Gonzaga game, Antoine zipped past:
35. Al Cech, 1962-64 (1089 points in 78 games) 34. Jason Calliste, 2011-13 (1107 points in 100 games) 33. Lou Hyatt, 1964-66 (1110 points in 75 games) 32. Desmond Ferguson 1998-2000 (1113 points in 94 games) 31. Bruce Rodwan, 1966-68 (1116 points in 75 games)
On Friday, expect him to pass the current #29, Michael Jackson. It will likely take him two games and possibly three to catch the current #28, Doug Chappel, who scored 1169 career points.
Davis is now 7th in career three pointers with 176, still 26 behind #6 Jon Goode. And, for the moment at least, he has inched ahead of Rashad Phillips and Archie Tullos to become the Titan all-time leader in FT percentage.
