How soon they forget! Josh McFolley has become Josh McFolly. Go Tians!!!! I am very confident that Commissioner's preview will be a lot more informative than the one posted on HoriZone Roundtable.

How quickly the Titans have become the "Tians." And not to pick on our old friend Kirky, because I found his preview informative (especially digging up Brad Calipari's summer tour stats), but, ... Kirky says twice that Calipari only had offers from Detroit and Hampton. That may be correct, but I'm not sure if it is. Recall that Calipari definitely took official visits to Hartford and Bryant as well. Whether they offered him was never reported either way, but nor was an offer from Detroit or Hampton reported until it was implied by Calipari himself saying that he was choosing between the latter two. Perhaps he ruled out the New England schools despite offers from them. If, OTOH, Bryant and Hartford had him in and didn't offer, that's discouraging, because they're in lower leagues than the Titans. Also, BJ Maxwell played three years at Abilene, and only has 1 year of eligibility left, not two, as Kirky reports.

Since Calipari is a walk-on, was there really an "offer"? To me, an "offer" implies an offer of a scholarship not an offer of a roster spot (as Kirky put it). Commish, your comments seem to be about a scholarship offer from Hartford and Bryant. At most I expect Coach Davis gave Calipari a guaranteed walk-on spot. But I'm just guessing.

Not sure where to put this one - looks like we had an ex NBA player at practice. I could have put this under "rebranding fail" also

Interesting that neither of the last two previews mentions Marquis Moore. Of all of the non-Antoine first year players, Moore made the strongest improvement from where he started to where he ended the 2018-19 season.
Here's a player who, in his last 10 games as a freshman, averaged 5 points, 6 rebounds, and shot 40% from 3-point range (8-20). He posted 10 points and 10 rebounds against IUPUI. At Milwaukee, he had 11 rebounds. In the two games against Oakland, he averaged 9 points, 4.5 assists, and 6 rebounds. At NKU in the HL quarterfinal, he had 12 points and 8 rebounds.
To put in perspective, Malachi Smith of Wright State made the 2019 All-Freshman team averaging 6.8 PPG and 3.7 RPG in the HL.
This suggests that these previews are only giving a superficial look at the full year stats; but not looking inside them for any trends. I guess Moore will just have to surprise the experts again.

I think it's a combination of low expectations for the team and then being overshadowed by AD. He was my favorite player last year (along with AD, of course). He played with energy and enthusiasm.

Its probably also because of the large unknowns in what this team will ultimately look like in terms of who is playing what minutes, and contributing what to the stat lines. Having said that, I echo PTC and NC about liking what Moore showed last year as a frosh.

It would have been a 10 second video but for the 20% reduction of practice time penalty that goes with the APR for the 2017-18 team.

Although we still have not heard from the NCAA on the APR issue, our graduation success rate (GSR) for men's BB was 75% for the six year period 2012-13 to 2017-18. Further evidence that our men's BB APR issue is related to an abnormally high number of transfers - not a systemic failure in the classroom by our student-athletes.
