Rebrand fail on the actual ncaa webpage. New low. Well, this is the NCAA page retweeting Andy Katz.

Commish - Andy Katz is employed by the NCAA and ncaa.com to write articles and commentary for them. NCAA issued that tweet. Andy Katz wrote "Detroit" in his article.

I didn't realize the University had a rifle team.. I watched the game twice so far - there's no way in the world we're one of the top 15 shooting teams in the country....unless it's three point shots attempted. If this has anything to do with accuracy, Katz must have stopped taking his meds, because he's crazy

You're being too harsh, Scout. It's one game. Antoine can shoot. Everyone seems to agree Calipari can shoot. Maxwell was an excellent shooter at Abilene. Willy can shoot. Top 15? I don't know. But shooting is supposed to be this team's strength. If we don't shoot better than last Sunday, it's another 20 loss season.

Top 50, possibly, if everything goes right, but a few of the names you mentioned have to do something on the court before they're at that level

Three Man Weave, who does an excellent job with their conference season previews, just did an article titled "Three up/Three down". We, of course, (they call us DETROIT) are featured in the "down" section. Here is what they have to say: www.three-man-weave.com/3mw/12-12-three-up-three-downw

Good find Scout. They really nailed our issues. I especially thought this line was fairly damning of our offensive plan thus far -- "To date, Davis has hit just 25.3% of his 99 3PA. Only 32% of those makes have been assisted"

Yeah, that hit the nail right on the head.
Remembering the subject that started this thread, I'm in the position of kind of hoping our appeal is denied. In the greater scheme of things, I don't think it will make a difference. I don't see us running the table in the conference tourney to win the automatic bid, and I'd rather not put the NCAA in the position of thinking they did us a favor.

I don't see us running the table in the conference tourney to win the automatic bid, and I'd rather not put the NCAA in the position of thinking they did us a favor. I've thought the same thing. The NCAA did the real damage by costing us at least two recruits and the 20-24 hours of pre-season practice. ***************** Re: the Three-Man Weave analysis. So, then, this year's overall lack of experience is not an excuse? Or the injuries to BJ Maxwell who would have been the experienced guard to play in tandem with Antoine and who is iffy for the rest of the season? Antoine is shooting 57% from inside the arc. The arc is 1 foot, 4.75 inches further out than last year. How many of his mid-range 2's would have been 3's last year? Clearly, he has had trouble adjusting to the new distance. We have no semblance of an inside game with Miller, Brandon, and Isiani from which to open the floor. At least last year Blackshear could dunk the ball. So, let's see if we play vs Toledo like we played vs UC-Irvine. Antoine took fewer shots. The other guys made more shots.
