Under 8 timeout, Wright by 25.
They just showed 5 highlights of Loves game, they were all him schooling Willy. I’m not knocking Willy, he’s clearly not in a position to cover love. Coaching staff should see that if I can see it.
Liddell about to check in and hopefully get some good minutes.

Under 4 timeout, Wright by 24 points, sitting on 89 points scored already. Sheesh.
Fraser with 19. He has a ugly shot but he’s played well offensively. His shot kinda is the equivalent of Charles Barkley’s golf swing if you’ve seen that.

Thanks for the updates. Just saw that Wright State continued to hold that 22 point lead you mentioned. Good idea on the beer. I'm also working today (at my kitchen table) and must give props to the Bells Two Hearted Ale that got me through work & your updates as well. Later!

Titans lose 93 - 70. Not a fluke, Wright is good and we don’t have answer for Love or wrights well rounded all around game with many contributors.
Pink sighting at 2 min mark.
Koka probly should only dunk and shoot no further than 3 feet away. He played nearly 20 mins, is nice on the boards and defensive end. Ends with 9 points.
Brandon didn’t contribute much in first game back. I’ll have to see stet sheet, but I think no points and a board or two in about 10 mins.
Joey missed 3 3s but he’s confidently putting them up - silver linings guys!
Have a good Saturday evening guys, beer number 2 is forthcoming...

Davis 1-7 from 3-point range. What gives. His 3 point % is a little over 10% for the season so far. Is he taking bad shots? Is he a ball hog? Can he shoot from wherever or whenever he wants?

Hopefully tomorrow’s a better day. That was ugly, Wright State was able to get any and every shot they wanted. At this point in the season, we look like an AAU team, who just adds players over the weekend. No offensive flow at all. One forced shot after another.
Playing the new big, gave us nothing. Give it a few days coach, at minimal a solid week of practice. I see why he didn’t play at Tulane. He was backed down like a rag doll. What he gave is what he’s supposed to. A hook shot here or there, given his height. Other than that he’s a project!
We look good on paper, and truthfully we need to be coached up. Find something that works offensively and defensively. Get a solid rotation of players with purpose. Define rolls of players etc... because as stated above we look like an AAU team, but not the EYBL level one. The one where the best players dad coaches, and he can do no wrong, and he shoots us out of games.
On the bright side, J Pink make his College debut today. Let’s get a win tomorrow Titans!!

I believe the answers to your questions are: yes, a little bit and yes. I don't think he is shooting anywhere near as much as he did last year. And he's driving a lot more than last year. What he's not doing is making those 15-foot fadeaways that worked well last season.

Just watched the game on replay, after being out all day.
Perry Watson always emphasized winning the five minutes on either side of the halftime break. Today the Titans lst that 10 minutes 31-17, and watched a lead turn into a double digit deficit. (If we extend it out to the final 6 minutes of the first half, it was 36-17). The coup de grace, though, began at the 11 minute mark of the 2d half, when Wright State launched an 18-0 run that turned a still manageable 10 point Titan deficit into a rout. In Chapter 5 of the Struggles of Antoine Davis, the erstwhile Titan ace was 1-7 from three, actually improving his season percentage. Chris Brandon struggled in his return. Dwayne Rose, after making his first shot, was 0-6 the rest of the way. Noah Waterman, having finally gotten past the NCAA, ran into the Horizon bureaucracy and stayed on the bench. At least COVID-19 precautions makes sense, as opposed to "we just haven't gotten around to ruling on his waiver." The Titans, who entered the game as one of the top free throw shooting teams in the country, hit just 6 of 10 today, but they would have needed a heck of a lot of opportunities for it to have mattered.
On the plus side, we learned that Jamal Pink actually exists. Buay Koka had 9 points (the second highest total of his career) in 18 minutes. Kuka has a weird little "what the heck, I'll toss the ball toward the basket" shot, but it was reasonably effective (4-7), and he had a couple of nice blocks on the defensive end. Love pushed him around a bit, but Love does that to a lot of players. Generally, I thought Koka looked quite a bit better than I expected for a guy who has been with the team less than a week and scarcely played at Tulane all last year.
Let's hope this is like the two-day Civil War Battle of Shiloh. After the first night of battle, in which the Union army had been surprised and nearly destroyed, General Sherman spoke to General Grant, the two friends standing under a tree in the rain. "Well, Grant, we've had the Devil's Own Day, haven't we?" Grant replied, "Yes. Lick 'em tomorrow, though."

It was a disappointing performance after the opening 10 minutes. Nagy made an adjustment and Coach didn't have a counterpunch. But after that none of our players could buy a basket. You can't lay this at Antoine's feet, because no one was scoring. Willy was 1-for-4, Rose was 1-for-8. Koka scored 9 points (one of few who shot over 50%), blocked two shots and altered quite a few others. Yeah, he got backed down but so did anyone else trying to guard their big men. I'd like to see Coach play Koka and Isiani inside to counter Wright State's two big guys. Let our three guards chase their three guards, challenge those perimeter shots. I like Coach Davis' defensive scheme. It puts a lot of pressure on the opponent, traps, produces turnovers. The challenge is that it takes time to learn, and with Koka new to the team Coach had to revert to man-to-man and we got killed. We don't match up well to this team. (How about a backcourt of Pink, Rose and Caileb Brown? Colorful, if nothing else.)

What he's not doing is making those 15-foot fadeaways that worked well last season. Last season AD averaged 20.8 shots per game. This season (so far) he's whittled that down to 20.2 shots per game. He's got a better team around him, but it's not reflected in his FGAs. He's still shooting a ton. RP3, by comparison, never averaged more than 16 shots / game... and he did that as a junior when he had the least help. I'm thinking AD should send about 5-6 shots each game elsewhere. Unless he gets hot of course. Then all bets are off and he can chuck it up as much as he likes.

I’ve always liked C Brandon’s game! So in defense of him today for his first game back struggles. He will have to find his role on this particular team. The new guys are all slashers, have the ability to put the ball of the floor and go coast to coast. Chris was never allowed to do that the last two seasons. He gave it up and at occasionally got it back on a break, thrown an alley op etc. I don’t see him being the kid we saw the last two years, at least on the offensive end.
I see Brad C is getting the minutes he should have gotten a year ago, and I always wondered why he played so much. The obvious is, their is no chance of playing Kentucky so he won’t be playing much.
Let’s get an upset tomorrow! Go Titans

Davis did not play well today. He may be shooting less, but the assists are also down. The team is recording assists at a higher rate than last year, but Davis's assists are down. Today he had one. Not a good game for a point guard who brings the ball up most of the time. You can say that the team is not shooting well and if they were, he would have more assists. True, but we appear to be a better shooting team than last year. We have assists on about half of our baskets, up significantly from last year. Yes, the schedule has been tougher to start the year than last year. That explains a lot, but not all. I do not consider him a selfish player, but as a junior I wish he would show more discipline at times. Hope for a better result Sunday, but I am not sure how we find an answer for that front court, especially Love. Love is a player who apparently is incapable of committing a foul in the Horizon League.

Antoine has not shot well from 3 point range ever since the line was moved back to its current distance. We might be better off not filling in the games next weekend lost to COVID at IUPUI because Brandon, Koka and Waterman need more rep's on defense. And our 6 core players from the first 4 games need more rep's with the new players so everyone can adjust to their new roles. Our defensive cohesion broke down when we went deeper on our bench. That was especially true in the last 3 minutes of the first half. Also, so far, we play better on the road than at Calihan. Just play better today.
