19 predictions have been placed on the table as of 11/1 at 10am. The average place of finish for the Titans is 4.5, with 5th place being the most frequent - 8 times (double the 2nd most frequent - 4th place/4 times). Would a 4th or 5th place finish be acceptable Titans fans? I'm thinking anything less than a championship (unless we're the 2nd bid in a 2 bid League), would be considered a fail. This is likely the last season of AD and to not win anything during his career would be a massive disappointment to me and a blown opportunity, not taking advantage of having 4 seasons of the Program's (likely) all time leading scorer. I'd be disappointed with a fourth or fifth place finish, for the reason you mentioned. I'd hate to see AD's career come and go with just individual accolades to show for it. Especially when you consider he could have just decided to take that offer from Houston. His numbers wouldn't be so impressive, but he certainly would have enjoyed a lot of team success as a Houston Cougar.

Busting brackets ranks all 368 bustingbrackets.com/2021/11/04/ncaa-basketball-ranking-358-d-programs-2021-22-season/189. Detroit Mercy Titans – Last Season Ranking: 274 Conference: Horizon League If you are a Horizon League basketball fan, then Detroit Mercy is one of the teams you must see. They are fun to watch as they can shoot the lights out of a building. They shot 40% from deep last year which was one of the best percentages in the country. The Titans don’t take all that many threes but the ones they do take they make, and overall head coach Mike Davis has an efficient offense. Detroit Mercy won 11 of 14 games to close out last year. The Titans are ready to turn the corner this year and are one of the favorites to come out of the Horizon League. I like them a lot and they have the offensive firepower to catch a power school napping. This team has a dynamic duo in Noah Waterman and Antoine Davis. Davis may very well lead the country in scoring. Detroit Mercy is a very dangerous team.

As you point out “Detroit Mercy” is used in this preview article. Yet as you can see by clicking this link we’re “Detroit Titans” elsewhere on the CBS Sports site: www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/teams/DTROIT/detroit-titans/Another everyday example of our school’s branding issue. Consistency in brand name is of significant importance in marketing approach, yet about half the media outlets call us the “Detroit” Titans, about half say we’re the “Detroit Mercy” Titans, there’s the occasional “Mercy” Titans, etc., and then like here an example of a major media organization that uses various names even within their one website platform. Similar patterns of inconsistent usage in how the school is referred to is also apparent among alumni, recruits, current students, the general public, etc. I forgive any college basketball fan in America who mistakenly thinks that “Detroit” and “Detroit Mercy” are two different academic institutions. Perhaps we need to give this more time, it’s only been 31 years since the consolidation and four years since the University’s double-down on using “Detroit Mercy.” I know udmperry that you previously said you were tired of people who keep trying to kick a dead horse about the branding debacle, but it looks like you may be coming around to see the problem.

Nope. But stirring the pot is not beneath me.

Is somebody actually picking the Titans for 1st place? It's not in English, so I can't read it
EDIT: They're actually calling us a "team to watch"

It appears to be an analysis of teams to bet on and teams to avoid, i.e. 2 teams that are undervalued and one to bet against from each league. He's not, for example, picking RMU to finish second--just to be a good team to bet on against the spread. So I'm not certain he's projecting a first place Titan finish, though he obviously likes the Titans and concludes "If Mike Davis can harmonize his team, Detroit will have a good chance of winning the league."

Another analytical/numbers based ranking. When sorting out by Conference, they put us 6th (190 overall). Funny thing is, Bob Morris is not listed as part of the Horizon evanmiya.com/
