He was one of the two visits last weekend. Jones was not one of those visits. I believe that Wilmont was at the FGCU game last March.

Marcus Tankersley is a guard. I've seen him listed at 6'2" and 6'3" (although this tweet has him at 6'5")
Veritas Academy has a gem in Marcus Tankersley. This kid averaged 26 ppg over the weekend with back to back 30 & 28 point performances. Scores it at a high level, at the rim and from the outside. Incredible performance at #PrepNationals

He brought a kid from his team with him at that time. Could have been Tankersley. The kid was about 6'2" or 6'3" when I was standing next to him. So, this has likely been an ongoing process.

In another post I noted that Jayden Stone is a bright spot in a dismal season.
The other bright spot, obviously, is Marcus Tankersley, who just keeps getting better. After yesterday's 29-point performance, Tank is now averaging 15.6 points on the season. Over the last 8 games, Tank is averaging 20.3 points, while hitting 35% of his threes and 51% of his two-point attempts, both big improvements from the early season. He's also averaging 2.9 assists over that span, including a career high 6 yesterday.
He's really emerged as the team's leader off the court. He seems articulate and able to speak to the press, mature in his outlook on this disastrous season. It would really be painful if he entered the portal after this season.

Tank and Hurst and Mak (after a long recovery from his injury, he's showing us what he can do) are what we have to build around for next season. And hopefully Oaks. I cringe at the thought of them hitting the portal. Finally getting some young players.....

We have good coaches who are good at coaching our players up. That's not the problem. What we need is Program Building. We need to bring in guys who want to be HERE and want to win HERE. It comes down to recruiting enough of the right guys - guys who not only want to work hard like Tank, but blend well together and, as a unit, bring the right set of skills, height, weight, etc. that results in a formidable team that can play big, play small, play fast, play slow, play well together.

I'm not looking to get into a list of players who got better vs. a list of players who didnt improve or anything. I assume we have some good coaches and I'm hoping it isn't just wishful thinking on my part. I would never definitively state it as you have though. When your team is the worst in America in year 6, I dont think anyone can definitively state your doing a good job in any area. Just feels like common sense. 🙂

I’m wondering when you watch this team exactly what you are seeing? In 5 years they didn’t do much for Kyle L. He was better on day 1 than he is now after 5 years of working with this staff of losers! I see a team with very few sets and a lot of one on one BS. If you want to see a well coached team watch GB. That is a team where the Coach is coaching to his players strengths and a bunch of guys who have bought in and are being coached up ⬆️! A coach who knows his players and makes the right moves at the right times instead of having his Son, who probably isn’t qualified to coach an eighth grade rec. team, handle the rotations!

Tankersley will probably be playing at one of the southern Big 12 schools next season. I'm almost certain he wont be at UDM next season.

Mike Davis and his staff have taken our once proud program to unbelievable depths. He is doing a poor poor POOR job in all aspects- recruiting guys, building a roster, developing players. The sooner Davis is gone the better, this isn’t working and our program is hangin in hoops hell.
