They had a lot of injuries and took in some bad transfers that have wrecked their season. I thought about you and your family as Wyoming picked up those winds. I think they will be much improved next season. They didn't have a good mix on the roster this year and they had too many key injuries.

Sam, do you think Bates returns to EMU next season? His NBA-potential stock must have really taken a hit with his disappointing play this year.

Sam, do you think Bates returns to EMU next season? His NBA-potential stock must have really taken a hit with his disappointing play this year. Good question. My thought is that one way or the other he will not be back at EMU. But that's more of a gut feeling than anything else. He's probably got people in his circle telling him he is NBA ready, based on some of his better games. I don't think he is, but all it takes is one NBA team willing to take a chance on him. Maybe he will go to the portal again, but I think a shot at one of the pro options is more likely than a return to college.

Not sure, but I think a second transfer to another school requires the player sit out a year. Only the first transfer doesn’t require a waiting period. If that is correct, I can’t see him sitting out a year to play elsewhere. www.ncaa.org/news/2021/5/19/di-council-adjusts-transfer-waiver-guidelines.aspx

I think second transfers circumvent the waiting period only with an NCAA-adjudicated approved waiver; no waiver is required for the first transfer.
