Noah came to Detroit because his coach at Niagara wanted him to play forward. Davis said he'd play guard at Detroit Mercy, and he did although Davis wanted him to move inside on defense. It probably was time for Noah to move on, but I don't think he did himself any favors by going to BYU.

Is he kind of a poor mans Bates?

Noah has never really fit in now on 3 D1 teams. So at some point, it leads one to believe the problem wasn't Niagara, Detroit or BYU. Or St. Bona's, who he committed to but then decommitted from after leaving UDM, he didn't even have to go there to see learn he didn't fit in.

Sometimes, maybe in the case of Noah, and it seems likely with Bates these players aren't coachable. Noah certainly could shoot, and handle the ball. It seems his first step to being a good A college basketball player would become basketball-wise and build up his body, it seems he hasn't reached that goal yet.

Edit: Thank you, uddrummer, for pointing out that I originally had the CSU/NKU game wrong. I was sleepy when I did the original post. 🙂

Sam, I think you flipped the score for the NKU vs Cleveland St game. Cleveland kept hanging around but ran out of time. NKU's defense messed up the flow of the Cleveland offense resulting in a lot of empty trips across the court. CSU made a 3pt with 0.2 sec left, but did not have enough time left to extend the game further. Another NKU conference championship.
Also, I watched parts of the Gonzaga game. Their full court press is very disruptive. For St. Mary's it seemed like each offensive possession in the first half was struggle to find open looks.

We're in the midst of my favorite time of the sports season: March college basketball. It's Championship Week, with all the joy and happiness that comes with it. There's already been several good games today, with more to come this evening. North Carolina is mixing it up with early season Titan opponent Boston College right now on ESPN. You'd normally think that an ACC team with a 19-12/11-9 record and a NET ranking of 49 would be in good shape for an at large bid, but most predictions have the Tar Heels on the outside looking in.
There's a good match up later with Virginia Tech and North Carolina State meeting in the ACC tournament second round. NC State appears to be in the Big Dance. Virginia Tech seems to have some work to do. That game is on ESPN2 at 9:30 PM.
If you're more in the mood for Big 12 ball with an instate rivalry flavor, you can see Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State on ESPNU, also at 9:30 PM. The Sooners aren't making the Dance unless they run the table in the tournament, but the Cowboys think they might have a shot at an at large bid with a couple of wins.
College Basketball! There's nothing like it.

I truly respect what Cl State has been able to do in recent years. Same with NKU. But I had reasons to root against both teams. 1. I root for Detroiters who go to U-D. If they don't go to U-D, they become the enemy. 2. I root against Chris Brandon.
Look, I respect both Programs and their coaches and am not hating here. I'd much rather have NKU or Cl State represent the Horizon than YSU or Milwaukee. We have some good coaches in this league. But this is about U-D and ONLY U-D. We need to step up our game. This run of crappy seasons with no Championships is absolutely ridiculous. In ALL sports.

I hope that NKU gets and wins a play-in game for another two-fer to benefit the HL and its members. It's pure dollars now.

Larry, why do you think it's bizarre?
A guy who grows up in Detroit Area and plays elsewhere is helping another team, not the Titans.
Chris Brandon grew up working out in Houston with MD and AD and leaves the Titans for a foe in our conference. He's in the NCAA Tourney and we're not so I guess he made a smart decision after all.
Good for these guys if it works out for them personally, but why I should I root for them? I root for my school and my guys. Might be simpleminded but nobody cares about Detroit except us.
Go Titans!

Nobody, but nobody really cares for the Titans except "us", so true, it wasn't always that way, it's a long, long road back, and once back it's hard to stay back, U of D or the UDM has made more than enough moves to kill the program. A program built brick by brick on a great sports tradition. The college sports "gods" this past week or 10 days have given the program, thanks to AD more exposure, and press, than all the year's combined way back to Vitale, exposure is the live blood of a successful program, I hope it's not wasted.

Has Washington State played itself out of the CBI? Also, has Fordham played itself up into the NIT? Maybe Michigan and North Carolina will be playing for the NIT championship.
