A AD/Titan game in the CBI just might be the most press-covered game the CBI ever had, yet some here would walk away from that....why?

Yes, if we receive an invitation to the CBI, we should accept. If Antoine scores at least four points and breaks the record, we should claim it,celebrate it, and hang a banner with his final total from the ceiling at Calihan. Put up a huge display that everyone walking into the Hall will see. Work with the City of Detroit to arrange a public ceremony with Mayor Duggan giving Antoine the key to the City. Own it.
And anyone who doesn't like it can take a long walk off one of the short piers on Belle Isle.

The only Banner Alumni care about is championships , not a record that was accomplished because of covid 5th year .

Somehow I think that the anonymous guy who only posts to trash talk the program doesn't speak for all alumni. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, though.

So your statement is incorrect.

Gives us a 70% chance of an invite. Gut feeling says we're in, and the haters will have to hate.

Sam, I've said this before, the Maravich record and the hoped-for-coming Davis record are different but a great achievements. If it happens it will be a great event and treated as such. If it was a 5 year event so what.

Financial partners don’t want to pay a 100K to sponsor a controversial trip and vowels needs approval from the new president to accept the invite. You can bet that one issue that the new president is looking at is the $593K we paid Coach Davis last year, in comparison to having a losing record. It’s not a mediocre record, it’s a losing record. Poor value proposition and bad timing.

I can’t even see where there should be any hesitation and I will look at not doing this as a show by the new President that his words of commitments towards Athletics were nothing more than lip service.

Don't worry. Be happy. If we play another game this season, then Antoine will have played 145 games in 5 seasons, the same number that Doug McDermott played in his 4-year college career thanks to 6 games that Creighton paid to play in the 2011 CBI. Therefore, I'm not going to get bent out of shape about the purity of the game if Antoine plays another game and breaks Pistol Pete's career points scored record. If Creighton paying for CBI games for its coach's kid is good enough for that Jesuit university, then us paying for some more games for our coach's kid should be viewed as one last vestige of "the Jesuit tradition" TM.

Wow, we pay him 600 k to come in 8th place. Hopefully the New president can clean house and bring in coaches who can put up winning Banners into Calihan.

I continue to think that "we're not winning, so let's not do things that would benefit the program" is a dumb strategy for rebuilding the program. I guess it's the "punishments and half-rations will continue until morale improves" approach.
