The first 'W' is coming today. I think we can still win as many as 3 games this year. I'm just hoping we dont offer the Davis' a long extension based on the strength of the finish.

I think Davis will announce he's retiring at the end of the season. I think we have a 50/50 chance of beating IUPUI and RMU at home, maybe finishing 1-31. Any additional wins on top of that would be unanticipated frosting.

Coach must retire after this season. It is the right thing to do.

Coach must leave NOW and take his son with him.

41 points. Youngstown State is now the leader in the clubhouse. Well done!

Was this the largest deficit on our home court in Titan history?

Was this the largest deficit on our home court in Titan history? Good question. Biggest loss on the road was by 50 points. The record book does not frame the issue of largest losing margin at home.

I'm not sure how much is guaranteed if terminated in the final year of the contract, perhaps it's somewhat less than the full salary amount. Also, I think it could be publicly announced as a "retirement" or "resignation" but in actuality a negotiated involuntary separation initiated by the University (where all or some of the remaining salary due would still have to be paid). This type thing happens quite frequently in a variety of situations where the employer and employee part ways.

Was this the largest deficit on our home court in Titan history? Yes--it ties for the worst home loss ever. The Titans lost at home to Notre Dame, 81-40, on January 18, 1947. This blow away the record for the worst loss in Calihan Hall. The previous record loss was by 29 points, on three occasions, most recently against Ervin Johnson and Michigan State in December, 1977.

Well. at least Youngstown State is also from Ohio. That's the end of the similarities though. 1962 Ohio State was a powerhouse.
It's a good thing we got off to a fast start yesterday or this one could have been worse. 😣

We should have realized from the beginning what the Davis’s brought in here thinking they had players and doing a sell job on us. I really think Davis can’t tell the difference between talented and non talented players. I thought once Antoine left maybe his eyes would open up to what a team needs to compete and win instead of what he needed to showcase AD, but I was wrong. The precursor to this season was there early for us when Wayne State easily handled us. Wayne State is not even an average D2 team, they are presently sitting in 9th place in the 10 team GLIAC. Just for anyone still left out there who thinks the Davis’s deserve one more chance! Looks to me like we probably would have a hard time finishing above .500 in the GLIAC.

We should have realized from the beginning what the Davis’s brought in here thinking they had players and doing a sell job on us. I really think Davis can’t tell the difference between talented and non talented players. I think the selling job was done by us to Davis. I think there have been a lot of things he expected that turned out not to happen or not to be true. The fund raising that was supposed to give us the "Road to the Championship" has not been successful. Kennedy has done his part as the Alumni leader, but the University support has not been apparent. Is this an excuse for a 0-20 record? NO, I am not saying that. I do believe that a young dynamic coach would have been a better fit in hindsight. There is a big difference between recognizing talent in ability in a player, which every College Coach has, and the ability to sign (and retain) that student athlete. Davis needs no help to evaluate talent. Signing and retention is a collaborative effort with many members of the University management and alumni. I do not believe that the collaborative effort has not been what he was "sold". Has this resulted in a fatalistic attitude by the coaching staff that affects their performance? I think so, especially when you add in COVID years and the academic sanctions from prior actions.
