Your opinion while certainly everyone is entitled to have is about as pathetic as they come. Don't bother attending a game, don't need riff raff. This comment is far from riff raff. I've been a season ticket holder over 20 years, this hire won't change that. However your pathetic comment does not change the sentiment. I have 15 years on you and I am sure that others here have more. Maybe I am being a bit harsh to suggest you are riff raff. Maybe you can provide some context to your statement on a guy who hasnt been 24 hours on the job? Maybe provide your choice and why, not that it matters at this point.

I heard that the new coach met with the entire Titan MBB team this afternoon and will be in Calihan tomorrow to do an evaluation of the guys on the court. I also heard he has pretty much already assembled a staff of assistants so there will be quick movement in that regard. Maybe Colin Donnely

Maybe Colin Donnely His Dad is Pat Donnelly - long time very successful head coach at UD Jesuit.

His Dad is Pat Donnelly - long time very successful head coach at UD Jesuit. And the guy through the years who never had any of his players come to UD! I hope Montgomery doesn’t hire anyone close to Donnelly. I hope he hires someone with ties to the Grand Rapids/ Muskegon area and someone out of the Columbus area and Thomas.

The brand that wouldn't die. We are inching slowly closer. If you read yesterday's press release closely, you will see that after the formal name of the school was mentioned first, all other references to us by us were as UDM. I know that is not what most of us here want exactly, but it is the first movement back towards the Perry Watson compromise. Again, this is coming from Taylor. Also, there will be more things coming to the campus including near Calihan Hall beginning in a few weeks as Taylor seeks to move the branding away from the misguided 2016 policy and towards his vision. As with all things UDM, I remain cautiously optimistic.

A good start will be to schedule pre-league games we can win, how many losses did MD schedule with his road game scheduling policy.

I want to believe that the “University of Detroit” references are foreshadowing to a legitimate name change for the university, but in reality I know that Vowels just hired another head coach who has not read out own branding guidelines.

Why would Donnelly have players come to UofD when UofD coaches werent stepping foot in Calihan? Come on UP you are better than that.

Are you saying we never tried to recruit UDJ players since before Coach Ray. We were not banning UDJ coaches from Calihan.

His Dad is Pat Donnelly - long time very successful head coach at UD Jesuit. I like him for that reason alone! I thought Pat Donnelly would make a good candidate also given he also had college head coaching experience earlier in his career.

Posting on this thread because of the MSU connection, perhaps Montgomery has a good relationship with this player:
Mady Sissoko has entered the transfer portal, a Michigan State basketball team spokesman confirmed Thursday.
The 6-foot-9, 250-pound center from Mali in Africa, started in 26 of the Spartans’ 35 games this past season. He was the team’s second-best rebounder, averaging 5.1 boards per game. He also averaged 3.3 points, down from a season ago when he posted 5.1 per game.

However, I never made any correlation until now. Not sure what you are suggesting. Its the college coaches who have to make the effort to engage with the HS coaches first. If anyone from Ray on wanted a player from U of D Jesuit, then the onus was on them.

I find it almost impossible to believe that none of our coaches ever made the 2.3 mile trip from Calihan to UDJ. I can not prove if they did or did not but I think Donnelly was included in some of our summer camps as staff!
