With the "experts" and "analysts" predicting the downfall of the conference, the Big East had a very solid November. Overall, the teams combined for a 48-12 record. While there were some soft touches on each team's schedule, the conference picked up some good wins over Power Five conference competition. Each team in the conference picked up at least one impressive win, with the possible exceptions of Seton Hall and Xavier, who haven't beaten any Power Five teams.
Nova is expected to be strong, but the wins over ranked competition by Creigton and Butler bode well for the conference.
Some notes, with current record and notable results:
Villanova: 6-0 with a blowout win over #14 VCU and a five point win over #19 Michigan.
Seton Hall: 5-0 with wins over Nevada and George Washington.
Creighton: 6-1 with a win over #18 Oklahoma and a loss to Mississippi.
Providence: 6-1 with wins over Florida State and Notre Dame to go with a loss to Kentucky.
Butler: 5-1 with wins over #5 North Carolina and, due to a previously scheduled tournament, Georgetown. The Bulldogs lost to Oklahoma.
St. John's: 4-1 with a win over Minnesota and a loss to Gonzaga.
DePaul: 3-1 with a win over Stanford, but a bad loss to Lehigh.
Xavier: 5-2 with a win over San Diego. Surprising losses to UTEP and Long Beach State by a total of seven points.
Georgetown: 4-2 with a win over #18 Florida and a three point loss to #2 Wisconsin.
Marquette: 4-3 with wins over Tennessee and Georgia Tech sandwiched around a loss to Michigan State.
Overall, it was a good month for the Big East.

The Big East had a nice weekend, picking up some good wins to boost their conference reputation.
Saturday was a very good day for the conference: Seton Hall crushed one of their rivals, current Big Ten member Rutgers. St. John's beat Syracuse. Butler beat Big Ten Northwestern. Nova crushed Big Five rival St. Joseph's and Xavier beat a pretty good Alabama team by 13. Marquette game Wisconsin a better game than many expected.
On Sunday, Georgetown and DePaul played well in blowing out two lesser teams by twenty point plus margins in each game. Creighton got one of the better Big East road wins of the non-conference by beating a good Nebraska team 65-55.
Three Big East teams are ranked in the AP top 25 this week.

Georgetown picks up a very good commit for the 2015 class as shooting guard Kaleb Johnson verbally commits to the Hoyas. Johnson is a four star/ESPN 100 player. Despite the smaller conference, several of the Big East programs still have a very strong brand name in college basketball, and will continue to recruit well. We're seeing that throughout the list of commits for the Big East's collective class of 2015. espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/189351/kaleb-johnson

Nova's brand is still strong, as evidenced by 2016 power forward Omari Spellma's commitment to the Wildcats today.

Good first day in the NCAA tournament for the Big East as Georgetown, Villanova, Butler, and Xavier all pick up wins.
The Big East got six of their ten teams in the NCAA tourney this year, up from four in 2013=14.

After getting an impressive six teams in the NCAA tournament, the Big East had a difficult tourney, with only Xavier reaching the Sweet Sixteen. Villanova was the only #1 seed to not advance to the Final Four. Utah took out St. John's (first round) and Georgetown (second round). Butler got a good win against Texas before falling to Notre Dame. Providence fell to Dayton. On the plus side, Xavier made it to the Sweet Sixteen.
Good regular season for the Big East, with a #2 RPI rating, but a disappointing post season.

Two Big East coaches recently got extensions: Holtmann at Butler and Mack at Xavier. Both seem well deserved.
Steve Lavin is out at St. John's, replace by former Redman Chris Mullin. They definitely won the press conference with that hire.
