Thanks scout, I was wondering when you were going to post this😊. 25-30 years ago we would've had a shot at Gardner, he might be out of reach in 2019.

I think even more recently than that we would have had a shot at him. I believe Chris Jenkins was a higher ranked player than Gardner in high school. Gardner was seen mostly as a mid major recruit. I expect he will land at a mid major, but this is where our poor record the past few years will hurt us. If you're transferring, you're probably looking for an opportunity for playing time on a successful team. I'm sure there would be playing time available for Gardner at Six Mile and Livernois, but I think he will probably have more attractive options. The nature of the trouble he got into at Georgetown will be a red flag for some.

Update on 6'10" Joe Jones, the Orangeville Prep player that we offered and I really wanted to sign here. Today, he scored season-highs with 8 points, 11 rebounds for Rob Lanier's 8-3 Georgia State squad

Michigan native is leaving the program. As a freshman is averaging 14.1ppg and shooting 42% from 3. Too bad he's a guard

Holy Cross has 2-15 record. I don't think he would be interested in another school with a big losing record.

Holy Cross changed coaches--Bill Carmody, who signed Lowder in the early signing period, resigned after the season. Lowder being a point guard, you'd think we'd at least inquire. But even if they want to come, you can't everybody, so I leave it to the coaches to decide who they want to recruit.

We will have several candidates for PG next year.......Pink, LeGreair(sic), Leidell, Calipari, Davis..Rose...it would be nice to have a pure PG and release Antoine from those responsibilities. I have been listening to games on 910 radio on Internet....Milwaukee game was exciting...looking forward to Green Bay game tomorrow. I had ESPN+ subscription for a few months. I was never able to figure it out on my I pad so I cancelled it. I actually prefer the radio broadcast....it makes me feel like I am a teenager listening to Marv Albert doing the Knicks games in the 60s from MSG.
BTW.....I will be appearing in Calihan Hall for games on Feb 13 and 15. I hope to be able to meet some of you folks.

Davis can play point but would be helped if someone else took on more of the ball handling. I don't think Leidell is a college point, and Calipari and Rose defintely are not. Hopefully one of next year's freshmen (Pink, LeGreair) will seize the opportunity.

As for my Feb 13 and 15 appearance at the Hall. Our seats are several rows in front of Reggie's Corner. My host is a member of Titan Club, so I will also spend time there. This is an annual visit, but I haven't met anyone from this forum as of yet.

Here's how some of the guys we offered last year did:
Rashaun Agee, 6-7 F, Chicago (Bogan), New Mexico State. -- Redshirted.
-Jalen Benjamin, 5-11 G, Raleigh (Meadowcreek), UAB. Averaged 28 minutes per game, 11.9 ppg, 1.5 apg,, 32.1% 3PtFG
-Harlond Beverly, 6-3 SG, Southfield Christian, Miami. Never had much of a shot at Beverly after he zoomed shortly after our offer. Averaged 7.2 ppg, 2.3 apg, in 20 mpg.
-Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk, 6-10 C, Belgium, Illinois. Played just 54 minutes in 9 games, 1.2 ppg, 1.1 rpg. Didn't play after mid-December due to foot injury, redshirted. He didn't commit to Illinois until June. Wasn't it said we lost a big Belgian due to the APR? I've wondered if Bosmans-Verdonk was the guy.
-KeJuan Clements, 5-11 PG, Chicago (Simeon), Hinds CC. Averaged 7.8 ppg, 2.6 apg, 30.8% 3PtFG in juco ranks.
-Fred Cleveland, 5-8 PG, Chicago (Leo). (North Carolina A&T). Averaged 9.0 ppg, 1.7 apg, 1.0 spg, 32.7% from three in 21.6 mpg.
-Caleb Coleman, 6-7 F, State Fair CC. Prairie View. Played fewer than 60 minutes total in 8 games, starting 2, none after mid-December. Don't know if he was injured or dropped out. Averaged 1.8 ppg.
-Derrick Cook, 6-4 PG, Georgia Highlands CC Fr. yr @ Northeastern), Jacksonville State. Averaged 5.4 points and 2.9 rebounds in 30 games.
-Levi Cook, 6-10 C, Wabash (Ind.) Valley College. Coastal Carolina. Averaged 2.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in 28 games.
-Madani Diarra, 6-11 C, St. Benedict's (NJ) Prep, St Louis. Played in just 4 games. Oddly, they didn't redshirt him, playing him once in January and once in March. Did not score, grabbed 5 total rebounds.
-Jeremiah Francis, 6-2 PG, Pickerington (Central), Ohio, North Carolina. An early Bacari offer. 3.3 points, 1.6 assists per game in 16 games. Was injured first month of season, then averaged over 20 minutes per game in 8 game stretch in December/January, then hardly played--only 32 total minutes after January 22. That kind of season reads like a transfer candidate, although with Bacari gone I see no link to UD.
-Daniel Friday, 6-2 PG, UD Jesuit - Brown. Played in 22 games, averaging 4.5 ppg in about 17 minutes per game.
-Myron Gardner, 6-5 SG, Detroit Loyola. - Georgetown. Is transferring after being accused of sexual harassment and assault. Averaged 10 minutes, 3.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in 8 games before incident. A reclamation project?
-Miles Gibson, 6-7 F, Northwest Kansas JC. - Eastern Michigan. Did not play.
-Devon Grant, 6-2 PG, Lorain, Oh. - Miami, (Oh). Averaged 9.3 ppg in 32 games, positive assists/turnover ratio. Sounds like he would have helped us.
-Caleb Hunter, 5-11 PG, UD Jesuit - Mississippi Valley State. Averaged 15.7 points for a 3-win MVSU team. 2.3 apg but 2.5 tpg, and only 28.7% from three.
-Joe Jones, 6-10 C, Buffalo, Orangeville Prep - Georgia State. 3.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg off the bench in 32 games.
-Carrington McCaskill, 6-6 SF, Detroit Renaissance. Florida Atlantic. Played in just 6 games, none after November. Could be injury redshirt, but a quick search didn't find reference to injury.
-Donovan Moore, 6-3 G, West Bloomfield - Toledo. Played in just 8 games, little impact. Has entered transfer portal.
-Antonio Reeves, 6-4 SG, Chicago Bogan. Illinois State. 7.2 ppg, 2.5 rpg in 31 games.
-Eric Rustin, 7-1 C, Memphis (Tennessee Prep). - Tennessee-Martin. Averaged 10 minutes, 1.1 points, 1.6 rebounds off bench. -Brian Taylor, 6-5 G/F, Detroit Edison. UIC. 3.0 points, 1.1 rebounds in 26 games. Looked good at times, but UIC was riding their seniors this year. Taylor may get a good shot next year.
-Evan Taylor, 6-5 SF, Chicago (Glenbard West). Lehigh. Averaged 7.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 36% from three in 24 minutes per game. Nice freshman season.
-Jalen Thomas, 6-10 C, UD Jesuit. - Georgia State. Played in all games, 17.7 mpg, 5.7 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.3 bpg. The Sunbelt Conference doesn't name an all-freshman team, or he would have been on it. He also would've helped us a lot, I think, but UD Jesuit kids don't come to UD.
-Chandler Turner, 6-5 SG, Detroit Renaissance. - Bowling Green. Played a total of about 70 minutes in 12 games, averaging 2.3 points and 1.5 rebounds.
-Ryan Wade, 6-1 G, Ann Arbor Skyline. Holy Cross. Played more minutes than anyone else on this list--averaging almost 31 minutes per game, appearing in every game. The results weren't overly impressive, though. Averaged 5.7 points, 1.6 assists, shot below 30% from three.
-DeShawndre Washington, 6-5 SG, Chicago (Morgan). - Robert Morris. Played in just two games in November. May have been injury redshirted but I don't know.
-Khalil Waters, 6-6 SF, Georgia HIghlands CC.- Troy. Played in 24 games. 3.5 ppg, 2.1 rpg.
-Romeo Weems, 6-5 SF, Grand Blanc. DePaul. Michigan's top recruit last year, averaged 8 points, 4.9 rebounds for DePaul.
-Tujautae Williams, 6'6" SG, Chicago (Orr) Tennessee Tech. Solid freshman year, averaging 6.4 points, 3.9 rebounds in over 20 minutes per game. Stats improved in second half--averaged 9 points, 4.8 rebounds in last 5 games.
-T.J. Wicks, 6'9" PF, Kankakee (IL). Joliet JC. 10.1 ppg, 5.6 rpg in juco. Sound enough. But after 13 point/7 rebound game in late December, disappeared from roster. I'm guessing academics done him in.
-Marsei Caston, 6-3 PG, Windsor, Can. (Potter's House Academy). NW Fla. State (juco). Averaged 14.7 ppg with 38.4% from three.
-Aaron Strong, 6'1" PG, Chicago (Farragut). Ranger College (juco). A guy I was particularly interested in as a sleeper. Didn't play after December. Another academic casualty? Or possible injuries (he tended to miss games in bunches in November/December, then play in several, then miss, etc.)? Didn't do much when he played.
-Jiovanni Miles, 6-3 G, Novi. Green Bay. Bacari offer. Walked on at Green Bay, played a total of 45 minutes in 7 games.
-Johnnie Jones, 6-11 C, Western Texas College. Colorado-Colorado Springs. Went to D-2 school, averaged 1.9 ppg, 2.4 rpg.
- Jordan Ash, 6-3 PG, Northwestern Grad Transfer, Wright State. Provided real senior leadership on WSU's 25 win team. 4.0 ppg, 1.6 apg, appearing in all games, averaging 17 minutes.
-Gary Chivichyan, 6-5 SG, Idaho State Grad Trans. Pacific. Three point specialist, provided three point shooting (38.7%) to Pacific. 7.9 ppg.
-Joe Hugley, 6-7 F, Gr. Trans. Cent. Conn. St. - East Tennessee State. 5.5 points, 2.8 rebounds in 28 games.

Jeremiah Francis got hurt again down at UNC. He's had bad luck with injuries since his junior year in high school, poor guy.
