Can't wait to start reading all of the big names that sign on to replace the 5-6 overmatched guys in the roster. Seriously, I can't wait. Wondering why I'm not reading about them yet? The guys we want to depart aren’t even leaving. Would you? I read somewhere that 1/3 of the D1 guys that entered the transfer portal last year ultimately did not receive a new full ride D1 offer. If you’re a borderline D1 player currently on scholarship, entering the portal is a huge risk. Especially in a year like this when it’s possible we might not have a season and so schools might not want to max out their available scholarships anyway. If I were one of the players Davis trashed I’d just keep doing my school work and see how things shake out a year from now with maybe an extra year of eligibility. Of course, even without guys leaving we still have a few scholarships to give. My guess is that we whiff on the immediately eligible transfer guys and end up scraping the JUCO barrel.

I thought you knew baller, those 5-6 guys were coming but they changed their minds due to covid-19. I guarantee you if we have a 2020-2021 season that will be the excuse.

You figure so many guys have higher aspirations for themselves, although surely some want to move on for other reasons. My limited observation would be that in a best case --- someone jumps up to a better league/school, and they are a role player rather than a shining star like they were at their original school. I think the sheen is going to quickly lose its luster as it applies to transfers and the idea you can find some real major contributors and gems (there will be exceptions of course).

Amir Gholizadeh (the tweet spells it incorrectly) is a 6'6" guard from Chicago St who just completed his freshman season. His time doesn't overlap Dildy's at the school. Originally from Toronto. 22.7 min per game; 6.8 ppg; 2.7 rpg www.gocsucougars.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2256&path=mbball

Nowhere is the rebrand fail more apparent than twitter posts regarding recruits.

Nowhere is the rebrand fail more apparent than twitter posts regarding recruits. Takes time, it’s only been 30 years since the name change and three years after the double-down brand rollout. Once it finally catches on it's going to be great, fantastic, like nothing you’ve seen before.

Joey Lindel was selected for the Associated Press first-team all-state team, Division 3: Joey Liedel, Erie Mason, Sr. The 6-foot senior guard averaged 30 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists per game while shooting 50 percent from the field, 41.9 percent on 3-pointers and 88 percent from the free-throw line. The University of Detroit Mercy commit led the Eagles to a 42-6 record during his varsity career including back-to-back LCAA championships, district, regional, and quarterfinal victories and a Division 3 Final Four appearance in the last two seasons. He became the all-time career leader in points for Monroe County with 2,202 career points and is second leading 3-point career scorer in the state of Michigan with 334, which is six shy of tying the state record. www.mlive.com/highschoolsports/ ... -team.html

He appears to have trimmed his list and we're still on it. Not definite, but it appears we're on the final list along with NIU, Stony Brook, Milwaukee and Green Bay. My guess is it's going to be either us or NIU

The stats of our 2020 recruiting targets are extremely paltry and underwhelming. I hope coach Davis remembers this when he's cussing them out next season.

Dree Gholston could help us a lot. He would be a key piece in turning us around quickly next year.
