According to Verbalcommits, Holmes has trimmed his list and removed us from consideration

Fresno State is probably a good spot for Gage. I knew he would have offers more attractive than ours; I was hoping that perhaps he had a connection with Dildy that would bring him here. We need a pass first guard capable of running the point to take pressure off of AD.

He appears to have trimmed his list and we're still on it. Not definite, but it appears we're on the final list along with NIU, Stony Brook, Milwaukee and Green Bay. My guess is it's going to be either us or NIU We didn't get him, Milwaukee did. This one hurts. He may have been the best player that we offered and he would have helped, plus we lose the recruiting battle to Milwaukee

He would have been a good addition here. But there are others. His friend had committed to Milwaukee earlier.

There are all kinds of great players we're recruiting that we still have good shots at. Once we invest hundreds of millions in our facilities, we'll actually start pulling in a few guys with multiple D1 offers as well... so we have that to look forward to as we move on down the road.

Commits to Toledo. I thought we'd get him... Davis' "perfect" recruiting record continues

Commits to Toledo. I thought we'd get him... Davis' "perfect" recruiting record continues Every player who has another option says "no" to this titan staff. It's really surprising because the coaches seem to be really pleasant people with friendly and engaging personalities. Whats baffling is that we aren't losing recruits to P5 schools, we are losing each and every recruit to schools on a similar level. I hope things improve.

You'd think that AD would be able to help with recruiting. Kinda like good players want to play with other good players, or to a lesser extent (and I'm not comparing him to LeBron) star players in the NBA recruit other stars to form a "big two" or "big three". Maybe the amount of shots he takes and his dad being the Coach are negatives - but he seems like a good young man and I certainly hope this isn't the case. At any rate, something isn't right here and I'm not buying it's the condition of the facilities.

I am not suggesting poor facilities is the excuse for this year's recruiting even though the majority of those who post in this thread seem to think that is what I meant. My point about facilities has always been that if you want any coaching staff to be able to compete on a more level playing field for 3 and 4 star recruits, we need better facilities. That is a longer range goal than the recruiting class for 2020-21. It was never going to be fixed completely for this year; but what quick fixes that could have been made are on hold until the school re-opens and the bureaucratic facilities improvement process restarts.
It's very disappointing that we do not yet know of any verbal commitments by any players for this Spring recruiting period. We are recruiting for targeted roster spots as opposed to trying to fill half the roster. It likely does not help our efforts when the news repeats daily that the city of Detroit is a virus hot spot. For some players, I suppose that AD is a plus. For others who want to be "the guy," AD is likely a minus. I don't know every player whom we are recruiting. And I don't know where on our priority list, each known offer ranks. I don't know how many players on our list are waiting for the dead period to be lifted so they can take an official visit here in June. It's certainly frustrating not to know because of the urgency of turning things around. And because under normal circumstances, we'd likely have some signings to announce this week if we had been able to bring in some players for visits. I'm worried, but I'm also confident that when the dust settles in May, we will have landed 3 good new players.

What has happened to the two bigs at Cy-Fair we offered 2 yrs. ago? It looks like they had decent seasons.
