This young man would fit well. Size, P5 experience, Chicago hometown prior to HS in KC. I only recognize a few of the college emblems besides Cincinnati....Florida International, South Dakota, Omaha, Louisiana. Other than the Bearcats, it's a mid mid major offering. We should be in the running...lets Hope Coach can land him. If eligible, he could share minutes at C/PF. He is listed on the Georgia site as 6'6". Ouch. Maybe that's from his high school measurements and he's grown a couple of inches. :-)

He's listed as 6'8" 220 lbs. Here's the link to his bio on the Georgia men's BB site. Yes, I remember Al Peake from Toledo, OH who played for our Titans. Here's a link to an article from the Toledo Blade reporting on Al's induction into the hall of fame at Toledo Start HS. The excerpt on Al. "Al Peake, class of 1967, who attended University of Detroit on a basketball scholarship. He was the highest scoring freshman in the university's history. He taught in Toledo public schools and coached football and basketball at Waite High School. He operates Al Peake and Sons and Daughter Too, a wholesale produce business."

Another transfer considering us in his final 10. 6'8" 220 lbs. Saw limited action at Georgia last season. This is not the other big man mentioned by Tom B earlier. I'm glad this foolish talk is over

Thanks. If you are taking a big guy who didn't do much at a previous stop, I'd prefer him to come from the high major ranks. My dream would be Yor Anei, but that kid is going to have high major programs all over him. Maybe we'll take a flyer on the EJ Datcher kid out of Mississippi State. Coach Z is still on staff there; maybe he'll tell the kid good stuff about Detroit. :-)

I'd be willing to take a flyer on Thompson from Seton Hall, although he's had issues in the past and didn't get off the bench last season

The-on-line chatter seems to assume that Matt Johnson will be immediately eligible. Guess we'll see.
So now we've got:
Guards: Davis, Rose, Frazier, Calipari, Pink, Johnson, LeGreair, Liedel, Gorman Forwards: Brandon, Kuol, Isiani, Hoffman Center: Waterman
If we assume Gorman goes back to walk-on status, Hoffman leaves (as has been rumored), and AD takes walk on status, we've still got room for the two rumored grad transfers.
If Johnson is immediately eligible and we do wrap up these two grad transfers (as rumored) then we'll have 7 seniors on scholarship next year, plus Gorman. Should be another busy year.

Commish, do you have Calipari on scholarship this season? If not, I only count six scholarship seniors: Fraser, Kuol, Rose, Johnson and two TBDs.
