Great news regarding Donovann Toatley, the fact that he's played 45 college basketball games at the D1 level is significant! He's a graduate transfer therefore I would like to believe he won't require a wavier.

Recently announced new commit, 5th year senior, Jay Allen-Tovar has transferred to NAIA Langston University. He would have likely helped us. Hopefully, we can fill his spot this late. In general, something this late indicates an issue with the NCAA's progress towards a degree requirements for a 5th year senior.

I think he would have helped us on the boards! Probably a little late to be finding anything good at this time, and the never ending story continues on and on and on!

I saw him in a starting role with scoring, rebounding and shot blocking capabilities.

With Tovar out (#$%@t%F@@#$!) we have, by my calculation, just 11 scholarships filled, and that's including one for Sonny Johnson. If Jayden Stone returns, which would be great news, we've still got a couple free.

It looks like we are fast becoming the UIUPI or what ever they are of the league.

It looks like we are fast becoming the UIUPI or what ever they are of the league. If you wanted Stone back, then we were never going to finalize our roster until next week at the earliest when move-in for the fall term starts. Tovar's issue did not suddenly appear yesterday. We had contingency plans. Some players transfer late because they need to graduate so they can become grad transfers. Some JUCOs transfer late because they need to get their class credits in order. Finally, don't overlook Kuac.

A quick review of. The portal reveals many available players in the 6-6 to 6-10 range. Granted, quality is unknown until deeper research is done. Also, previous transfers need to be determined to avoid potential waiver scenarios. I am sure that we are also scouring JUCO ranks.

The school and this coaching regime have boxed themselves into portal transfers, getting play or some other D1, or some "name" school, and was 4 stars, if they don't qualify it means nothing. If MD left the UDM today, I don't think anybody could say the program is any better today than the day he started His one and only claim to fame is his son, who was great, but his talent as far as advancing the program was wasted. This guy has to go.

It’s so easy to get discouraged by this program and it’s approach. Seem like every year we start out on a trip without a map. It not luck that bring success but hard work an great planning!

My scouting of the portal begins with: Cam Bryant..6-7, 205….Georgia Southern…Sun Belt Conf..6ppg as frosh, 7ppg as soph, only played first 3 games last year….Dean’List Spring 2023 so not an academic problem
